Ryder isn't really that unfit. He's surprisingly quick between the stumps and very nimble. He's nothing like Mark Cosgrove, either in speed or in girth. Mark Richardson is an idiot, don't ever listen to anything he says. Neither this run out nor the one in the test match was Ryder's fault. Its not unusual because your not thinking about it. Mark Cosgrove does the same thing. He is unfit and rather slow so he backs up further to avoid finding himself short at the other end. Rigger said the same thing about Ryder's lack of awareness. If he had been concentrating he wouldn't find himself still half way down the pitch when he was run out because he would know Misbah is right next to him especially the way Guptill plays and their previous run out in the test match.
Are you a doctor or a physiotherapist? Cause otherwise that smells like pure bull**** to me. I really don't think being a few kg's over weight is the cause of his calf injuries and groin strains. Don't forget, Ryder really isn't that big anymore, he's not that much rounder than Ross Taylor is these days.He is a natural athlete more than fit tbh. That's why he still has a lot of injuries despite being able to play those long innings.
Not that much rounder than Taylor? Aye? He's massively bigger. If they were boxing they would be in different weight divisions. Are you a doctor or a physiotherapist? You can't possibly be suggesting that the selectors select an actual wicket keeper as the backup keeper? Don't you know that How's fielding is a vital cog in the side?Heck even Peter McGlashan may have been the way to go.
Oh now come one. Seriously? Of course it does and you don't need to be an expert to see why he has a mountain load of these injuries when he is still young. Are you a doctor or a physiotherapist? Ryder has lost a lot of weight in the last 2 years. And if being fat is a one way ticket to injury, then how come Inzamam played 120 tests? Ranatunga with 93 in an era when SL didn't play much cricket? David Boon with 107.
And it's not like Ryder had a grand history of injuries prior to about the last 12 months, despite being probably genuinely obese. Before he pulled a hami in the CT in september '09, the only other time I can remember him being injured was when he slashed his hand to ribbons.
Ross Taylor with a hamy twinge. Get that fat bastard out of the team.
