Rumors around already that Ganguly could be become the coach for India when Kirsten leaves. How cool would that be if it were true? He after all brought Dhoni, Yuvraj, Raina, Zaheer and others into Indian cricket. So there wouldn't be problems between the captain and coach for starters.

he will be a greg chappel kind of coach though.and want control over everything. not sure it would be a good thing in the indian setup. can't seet it happening in any case.

Yeah ironically enough the Ganguly idea reminds me a bit of Greg Chappell who was picked for his name rather than any particular success as a coach. I could say similar ego issues with Ganguly as well.
Coaching is a lot more than having a good cricket brain. It involved a lot of hard work and the ability to work closely with players on improving their games. Ganguly could become a good coach but I would like to see him developing his coaching skills at a lower level before making him India coach.

did kirsten have any experience? very little chance of ganguly being appointed,in any case.

Add Sehwag and Bhajji to that list as well. He didn't bring Raina I don't think though. I think it was more Dravid that brought him in.
Also what's this about Ganguly being hypocritical?

I don't know about experience coaching a professional team but Kirsten did start his own cricket academy.

Wow... say whatever you wanna say about Pathan but he surely is emerging as a player to be wary of for many teams heading into the worldcup.
You need ability and lots of luck to bat the way he does, but still it was amazing how he virtually tore apart Steyn and co. I guess the lesson to be learned from this is that you just don't bowl anything in his half as a bowler.
Anyways... agree with the general sentiment that having Ganguly as coach would be a disaster, the man is virtually walking ego and he's pretty much also a cult figure, so every chance he would just overshadow the side. India has the money to just about lure any coach from around the world and if he's available then they should try to bring in Andy Flower as the coach, have been hugely impressed with the way he has handled things around in the English camp.
