Fmd Doug should have run Pietersen out then. He's wandering around everywhere out there. Bizarre.
Yeah. Like I said earlier, deadset reckon they should've got him handling the ball after the missed stumping attempt. He was still out of his crease and just leant down, picked up the ball and threw it back to Dussey.

Yeah. In between those two moments he kind of wandered out of his creas and shaped to pick up the ball again too. It's just odd, can't say I've seen him do it before.

That was absolutely brilliant from Johnson, wasn't it? Should be playing for the Socceroos..

Should be up there among the best run-outs ever, along with AB de Villiers's effort.

Monumental effort ....150kph when you're 34 years of age.

That's athleticism.
Not necessarily. Shoaib's 35 & was up over 150kmh in our summer just gone and I wouldn't call his current physique "athletic". I reckon extreme pace is as much inherent as anything else. There's been the odd bloke who's suddenly got fast from nowhere (Craig White and Ryan Harris two off the top of my head) but mostly the real quicks seem to arrive fully formed (in terms of speed).

FMD Hadds, he hasn't got close to that at all.
Bloke looks a hack, tbh. Needs to improve to reach mediocre. Paine looks like the unholy offspring of Wally Grout and Alan Knott by comparison.

I think that the DRS rules are really stupid.

Why does the batting team effectively get a free referral for front foot no balls, while to bowling team has to actually risk losing a referral when they are 50/50 on a nick?

It currently makes no sense. In my opinion a no ball should be called by the umpire at the time of delivery and if it's not, it never should effect the game. No referrals should centre around them, just like the umpire does not go to the third umpire for a wide or a leg bye.

At the moment they're just slowing up the game and I agree with Tubby on this - referring a front foot no ball to the third umpire is stupid, time wasting and breaks the flow of the game.

EDIT: This is especially true for limited overs games, where each individual wicket is of less value than tests. I could see an argument made for tests, but for ODIs just fire the batsman and keep the game moving.
Couple of points there:

1) UDRS isn't for 50/50s or at least shouldn't be. If you aren't sure, don't refer.

2) Letting wrong decisions stand for the good of the game's "flow" is just crazy talk; I'd personally like to see all front-foot calls made by the 3rd ump. Realistically how many times does the batter have time to adjust his shot on the call?

Bollinger blowing hard. Baffles that a bloke who'd bowled as many overs for NSW as he has this season and presumably trains hard would appear so unfit.

That wicket aside, he's been arse today. And it was a **** shot, the relief was painted all over his face.
I know it's wrong to mock the afflicted, but it cracks me up how his real hair at the back and sides is drenced in sweat, but his synthetic thatch seems to be waterproof.

Anyway, some penisy cricket for our last three dismissals. Struggling to bat out our overs now.

Jeez this is poor here from England. Should have cruised past 300.

It's good of them though, to give a few back to our lads, who were so charitable earlier.

England have enough anyway, IMO. I think Australia's batsmen (while carrying Clarke ) will have to play out of their skins to get this.

DIdn't see the English summer but was Shoaib as consistently up there (140Km/h+) as Lee?

Dont reckon Oz will get close tbh as England's score is well above par IMO

Oz has only themselves to blame as they gifted England at least 80 runs through sheer incompetence

Well, we use the Queen's imperial measurements up here, not having sold out to Johnny Frenchy, but he was consistently up over 90mph. Was remarkable considering his bulk.
