Jacques Rudolph ftw.Does South Africa seriously not have any other openers better than Peterson? I can't believe that looking at the rest of their batsmen. Their only real weak spots is Peterson and their spin options.
I think around the wicket is the best option but he's bowling pus at the moment.Hope to be proved wrong, but disagree with the around the wicket strategy by Zaheer to Amla if he's going to aim them at the pads.
It is aimed at making him play more.Hope to be proved wrong, but disagree with the around the wicket strategy by Zaheer to Amla if he's going to aim them at the pads.
Nearly cleaned him up bowling round the wicket last over tbf.Hope to be proved wrong, but disagree with the around the wicket strategy by Zaheer to Amla if he's going to aim them at the pads.
Did outstandingly well in his first innings, made 150 against the Aussies, but tailed off thereafter. Had a poor series against England, could not cope with the swing from Jimmy Anderson, and should he make it through the new ball burst, then Swann would usually do for him.For memory Prince did OK as an opener, but with most things he seems loathe to do it. Not a real team man that one.
Test cricket like this is grand isn't it ?Love watching batsmen try and counter the conditions that are stacked in the bowlers favour for a period. We see far too many dull, flat, slow tracks where batsman with patience can cash in comfortably. This is a much more even contest, where batsmen that play really well will score runs, but they're going to have to earn them.
I suppose over his career Prince is a fair overachiever, dogged however, probably not the worst option at that time.Did outstandingly well in his first innings, made 150 against the Aussies, but tailed off thereafter.
