Even if Australia managed 450, which they almost certainly won't, England are still in this due to the time in the match and the improving pitch. When SA chased that massive total of 414, they were only 4 wickets down. That being said, this wicket still is not easy to bat on and a total of more than 350 probably will be pretty difficult to chase.

Pitch isn't that flat. It'll be difficult no matter what we end up getting

Just watching replays of the Johnson wicket, easy catch. Anyway, was it just me who thought he seemed VERY reluctant to go? Was wondering if he felt it had been grassed.

On any wicket against any bowlers, chasing over 350 in the 4th dig has a certain stigma attached that adds a psychological factor.

Certainly think we can do it, but we need to apply ourselves.

A Brisbanesque performance would be nice :)

Yeah I agree. But I still think there's quite a bit of extra bounce, and IMO, England haven't bowled that well

Am I missing something when I suggest Mussey should be an opening batsman (with Watson)? He's done it before!

tbh, i think even now we have enough runs, probably, and england will have to absoltuely bat out of their skin to get 380+
we have runs on the board, they still have to get them.

i think with the south africa thing, aus also took their foot of the pedal to contribute to that, and they were really taken by surprise by duminy.

if they are on their game, create pressure and hold (most of) their catches, i think it will be 1-1 for boxing day!!

In all probability England will be bowled out for less than 300 but in the Aussies minds will be the S.A. game 2 years ago and the last couple of weeks where they couldn't buy a wicket.

Both sides will have some mental battles to overcome in the last day or so, which one does it best will win. Don't forget Australia have been in winning positions lately and blown it, they may do it again here.
