Yeah I thought the bowlers article was wonderful. The batting article i could not read up. And wow, surprised to see Imran and Mushtaq following Warne in a splendid run of wicket taking.

That 90 test period is FREAKY!!! Esp. when you consider most people have careers that only span 90 tests..

Indeed freakish. Both Murali and Barnes were like wicket-taking machines. Wish Barnes had played more tests and someone had captured his bowling on camera!

Stunning numbers there by Murali and Barnes. Having said that, as soon as I saw the title of this thread I thought of Waqar. He had quite a streak himself. Mushtaq Ahmed was a bit of a surprise though but was always a very underrated bowler IMO.

Ha ha, that 90 Test run is absolutely ****ing ridiculous.

On a related note, I was expecting Murali's decline tests (last 10) to be a lot worse.

He played two on absolute roads in Pakistan, and 3 against India in India, with Sehwag in the form of his life.

Murali's streak of 631 wickets in 90 Tests is mind-boggling. To me, it is the most impressive stat in cricket history along with Bradman's batting average. Just unbelievable! For whatever reasons, he just doesn't get the credit he deserves.

To me this stat (of the best batting streak of 80 innings -- exactly the number of innings that Bradman batted) was also very interesting. Did not expect Ponting and Lara to be the next best (although the gap between them and Bradman is still significant as expected).

Jeez... Murali is up there in any rating!
Imran Khan is generally very close to the top too, which is quite incredible for someone who was also a more than a handy bat. More I see these ratings more Imran grows in my estimation.

Bradman is almost 2000 runs ahead of next best, Ponting. In next 2000 runs you can fit in more than 100 batsman :-O
