*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Nasser said Harris had said he could bowl a maximum of fifteen overs per day. I guess having Watto means that's okay. It'll be interesting to see how he holds up.

Two changes to the Aussie XI then

Fairly sure Johnson & Hilf were the first two bowlers on the teamsheet for most people before the first Test (correct me if I'm wrong though), crazy
Yep, and Siddle for most people was ranked about the 4th or 5th best quick, and is now the only certainty.

However, that's the nature of our group at the moment - there's no real pecking order, and one good or bad performance can see you atop or sliding right down, respectively, the greasy selection pole.

Really got to use this new ball wisely. Looking forward to Anderson and Watson renewing hostilities.

Important we find the right length on here early. Expect Jimmy to go full with the new ball, as per usual, and see what swing is about. Finn needs to be fuller than at Brisbane.

TBF, it's not necessarily that I think they should be picking Johnson, but that they should have made their mind up prior to the series as to what they wanted to do. I think they are sending good signals to England, from my POV.

Point definitely taken about Harris and Bollinger but let's not forget Harmison was also picked ahead of Sidebottom & Onions last year.
I think with Johnson though, it's a bit hard to tell how he's going to play until you play him. He looked good playing for WA, but then played atrociously in the test.

It would've been very difficult to decide what you were going to do with him prior to the series (if you were indicating the selectors should've decided he was either in or out) without giving yourself an escape route should he fail.

The way I see it, deciding you were going to keep him should you select him for the first test would be tantamount to disaster for the Aussies for the rest of the series if he didn't improve.

I'd say they did decide what they were going to do before the series, and that was to get rid of anyone who wasn't up to scratch and replace them with better alternatives (unless they bat and are named Marcus North).

I don't think we lose anything by selecting Doug the Rug and Harris.

There's no way that they couldn't play Johnson after what he did against Victoria in the lead-up to the series.

Can never get into having national anthems before the tests.

Don't understand why the filth don't just sing along to God Save The Queen tbh

It's a competition of the 2 worst national anthems in the world. I think Girt-by-Sea's is marginally better than ours though.
