*Official* First Test at the Gabba

It isn't really played in the UK, well apart from at a very amateur level by a small number, but it does have a reasonable cult following on television.

Edit: Come on Jimmy. If we can get one out tonight I'd be very happy. Two and I'd be bloody delighted.
It was played quite heavily in the 80s in the UK, I worked out at cornerback for Gateshead Senators, but I was actually referring to watching it in the 80s. For a while it was well watched on Channel Four but I think now its only on Sky? Maybe Channel Five at an ungodly hour.

What a joke. Get home just in time for 30 mins of cricket and they cut to the news. They don't even show it on foxtel because 9 have a tilted playing field and have hoarded it. FU nein. Bring on the anti siphoning legislation.

So, just got up. When I went to bed they were 180/4. Huh. Remember when Siddle was ****?
Haha yep. Go look at around page 100-110 of this thread (maybe even longer, but I couldn't be bothered reading...). There was rabid hatred of the choice of Siddle over Dougie. I'm no Siddle fanboy - I think he bowled a lot of inane stuff today, but the overreaction of fans was priceless. A bit of egg on face tonight.

Anti-siphoning would help Nein wouldn't it?

First ball I've seen with really steep bounce. Pitch starting to play more normally.

Did Taylor really just mention Finn as one of the 'swing' bowlers the conditions will suit?
Taylor may have been a fine captain but hes a bit of a clown as a commentator. Have to wonder whether some of these channel 9 commentators watch any cricket outside of what happens in Australia.

During one of the tour games, Ian Bell was described as "not as stylish as the other batsmen in the team, but a gritty fighter".
