As good as Shane Bond was, Wasim Akram was far more skilled than him. Of course, there is no shame in being second best to Wasim Akram. Only a handful of great fast bowlers over the history of the game compare. In fact, if you are talking pure skill, I do not think even Glenn McGrath beats him.Okay. So here are the stats. Clearly Bond didnt play enough tests but in pure skill he is better than both of the others. And in ODI's he leaves them in the dust
LOL. Yea Akram is worse than McGrath in every single statistic in both forms of the game (except wickets in ODI and 5 wicket hauls in tests ) but he is more skilled. As good as Shane Bond was, Wasim Akram was far more skilled than him. Statistics and skill do not neccessarily go hand in hand.LOL. Yea Akram is worse than McGrath in every single statistic in both forms of the game (except wickets in ODI and 5 wicket hauls in tests ) but he is more skilled.
How do you define skill?
Love your avatar. All the stats show are that it was a terrible shame that Bond had such a wretched run with injuries.Could have gone down as ATG but wasn't on the park often enough sadly.

Shh! We heard it now. No one can be better than Bond. Not even Boycott's grandma.

even garner isnt as good. Garner is pretty close though not gonna lie.
Whenever we talk about durability - Makhaya Ntini comes to my mind without any doubt! I just dont understand how he kept himself fit for this long.Durability does count, though, in weighing up bowlers. It is a lot easier to put in a peak performance if you only play one series in 5 and, really, how valuable is a bowler who is almost never available.
