Look based on public comments that selectors have made, I'm sure that he was going to be picked anyway. I'm just hoping he can take this confidence into the tests and make an ashes-winning 1000 run haul.

One of the reasons that Hussey took so long to break into the Australian side was that he would have two great seasons and then two horrid ones. The same looks to be the case with his international career as well. I'm just hoping that he's about to start on another two great ones.

Victoria definitely seem keen on finding Sheridan a role in the setup, don't they? From what I can gather he's basically a fourth seamer and a number eight bat at First Class level, but they've tried him in several roles including one day opening batsman, and First Class batting allrounder in this game. Probably would've played effectively as a specialist batsman had McDonald not got injured, but he's bowling first change in the second innings now too, I see. They must really see something in him.

Reckon WA won't need that many more before they'd have enough to put Vic back in, probably just enough time left for Huss to get his ton. Wonder how much of this match was cooked up by Dussey and Norf, early declaration and whatnot. Can't get to the stream, can anyone tell us what fields Dussey is setting for Mussey?
