Might be injured. Surely you'd have better specialist batsmen to pick if he wasn't going to bowl.
Nah. He's not injured. And yeah, he's a decent enough bat (a decent 8 or 9) but there's better batsmen available if they needed a pure bat. I just think they don't rate him in First Class.

Is it just me or does Sam Wells only seem to score runs for Otago when they're in the ****? Good signs it must be said.

Murdoch, Crook, Nevin and Rhodes would play ahead of him as a batsman.
Whatever happened to Fraser Colson? He was in the under 19 team a few years back with Southee, Williamson and co and was seen as a pretty big talent. I noticed he was playing for the Wellington "A" team last year and he scored a couple of 100's, I would have thought he'd made his first class debut by now.

Scott Styris isn't mucking around here, three sixes in his innings already. Hopefully we can push for 450+ as quick as possible to give us a decent shot at bowling Wellington out again. I'd hope where bowling by this time tomorrow with a 200+ run lead.

Still is but isn't really in the runs. I'm pretty sure he wasn't in the trial.

Though looking at all the club results Gellatly might get in the mix if the batting keeps failing.

Brilliant stuff Athlai

Mills and Tuffey not exactly pushing for NZ recalls then. Auckland pitches no doubt flat again but outbowled by Bates. Other bowlers with impressive figures though - if we don't have an awful year for domestic fast-bowler injuries like last year there should be a few names to get excited about.

Reckon we need to worry more about the present than the future with all these injuries and general direness.
