Okay I don't know where you heard that but it's complete nonsense.
You are telling me, that Clarke has a backfoot play against fast bowlers!?
Whenever a short-ball is bowled at his body, he either just stands their and gets pinged, or just wafts at the ball cluelessly...

Er, yes. When he's on form he has a perfectly fine pullshot, cut shot (to a degree), hookshot etc. etc.

His back foot driving is especially good.

Exactly how much Michael Clarke's batting have you watched?

Good to see Starc and Ferguson get a game, was sick of seeing Siddle in the ODI side.
Good that Doherty is also getting another gig, but why couldn't they pick both Haurry and Doherty, won't have hurt to have 'em both bowling in the middle overs...

Good to see Doherty back in the side for another well deserved opportunity.
And I think it's even better to finally see Ferguson back in.

Agree with most of your post, but the Clarke cut is arguably the worst shot in cricket. :p
Agree with you there, strangely ugly shot from an otherwise extremely aesthetic player. Still don't know why he doesn't fix it.

Gets him a bucketload of runs though.

What a start! Wide then a dropped catch. Would've been a blinder!

Am looking forward to seeing Starc bowl.

That would've been the best catch I've seen in a long time had that been taken. Not gonna worry too much about it.

Why is Starc so high up the list at the moment? Surely there are heaps of better options than him?
Aesthetics and age. I don't think the selectors are actually deluded enough to think he's one of the best options at the moment but, like when they gave Hazelwood a go, they're giving some experience to someone they think will feature further down the track.

If Sri Lanka were playing New South Wales today and everyone was fit, Starc would not be playing.

Tall, solid pace, no movement, from NSW. Take a guess what the most salient factor is.

It's ****ing Bracken all over again.

Strac might not be a world beater, but atleast he brings those three wooden things into play...
That Johnson ball actually SWUNG *shocked*
