Ikki, PEWS, please stop. You're both making me want to gouge my eyes out rather than read anymore of this! :p

It doesn't make India's performance better, but it does make Australia's performance worse, so when you're just comparing those teams to each other, it definitely is an advantage.
Well, see, that's an important difference. I wouldn't disagree with "Australia should have a better bowler to take that advantage" but I disagree with "India have been fighting a harder fight because Australia could have an advantage that they're not taking".

In effect, it is really a detriment suffered that gives Australia an advantage. If a pitch is so flat and holds so well that all 5 days are batting paradises...it makes no difference who wins the toss. The toss itself is not the advantage, the pitch deteriorating enough for bowlers to take advantage of it is the advantage. If the latter does not occur, there is no advantage.

Thread fast going down hill.

Annoys me to no end with the Indian fans trying to 'anti'-jinx' themselves or something either.

I shall be annoyed if I see the man with no arms winning the toss in tomorrow's ping pong match, will hit him with his big paddles.

I am so annoyed Australia are winning this...
You say that as a joke now, but it's been happening this whole tour. These dire predictions from the Indian fans even though they know they're in the box seat. Maybe it's just sour grapes, but I'd rather you just said Australia is ****ed up the ass with no chance.

I'll just sit in the corner now...

Have seen Australian fans do it too, admittedly less-so though.

Got some stats on Tendulkar for you:

If Tendulkar has scored 50 or more in the first innings of a test, he is 3 times more likely to not score well (<30) in the second innings of the test.

Now, lets assume most players follow the trend of Tendulkar, you have many players making good scores in the first innings, it is therefore more likely in the second innings there will be a collapse.

What? Hardly ever... It's just an annoying thing to do.
I dunno man, you do complain about Cricket Chat a lot.

Anyway, it only became annoying when India started winning on that last day. Before that no one card.

Plus I'm not anti-jinxing now, bit of boy who cried wolf about my posts, but I believe Australia are in with a real shout.

Other than Sachin and Sehwag, what do we have? An out of form and near the end Dravid, noobish batsmen like Vijay, Raina, a mediocre test batsman in Dhoni and a debutant in Pujara.

The lack of Laxman and Gambhir is important, even if Vijay did bat well in the 1st dig.

A lead of 185 runs with three wickets to go on a track with a highest successful chase of 194 against a weaker batting line-up than one which collapsed to 122-8 on a better wicket in the previous text match. I think it's pretty clear which team is in the driving seat. Played, Australia.

I'm just stating the facts, not jinxing.

Vijay's definitely not going to score any runs in the second innings anyway because he scored them in the first..
