International 12th Man
he has averaged 99.95 this year
This is certainly starting to look like a possibility, 6 Tests to go this year and around 600 runs to get.all thanks to sachin
well am looking forward to him breaking the record of mohd yousouf for most runs in a calendar yr
Already has 1194. More like 500 runs short atm. This is certainly starting to look like a possibility, 6 Tests to go this year and around 600 runs to get.

3 against NZ and 3 against SA, right? Or is it only two this year? Haven't checked the schedule.not 6 but 5 tests left
problem is
if he keeps scoring big every innings, he might not get chance to bat in the 2nd one
Just the 3 against NZ. SA tests start on Jan 2nd 2011. 6 innings + the current innings left this year.3 against NZ and 3 against SA, right? Or is it only two this year? Haven't checked the schedule.

Caught that similarity too.Is it just me or does anyone else think that Murali Vijay's batting style is similar to VVS Laxman in some ways? Am watching highlights, he played one wristy flick on on side, and one cover drive leaning lazily without moving his feet - exactly how Laxman would do.
Has no variations? He varies his pace, length, loop, bounce...sometimes, varies the flight....has an orthodox left arm spinner (good for catch out s and stumpings) and an arm ball (good for lbw's and bowled out's). He hasn't developed a good wrong-un yet, but his stock ball is good enough for many test batsmen of today's generation. Specifically, his variation of loop and length are things I find very promising. He needs patience from the Indian selectors who are so fond of playing musical chairs nowadays (when it comes to picking the 2nd spinner or the 2nd pacer).Has no variations and always bowls the same ball. Easy pickings for set batsmen. Won't have a good test career. If he does, I will eat my own dick - live on youtube.
Aye. Been a Trojan effort from the big fella for scant reward. 1/61 practically libel, tbh. I like the cut of his jib. Captain's dream, charges in all day and keeps it tight.Hilfenhaus has really impressed me these two matches. Shame he hasn't been picking up the wickets with it.
I'd be up for some sort of a bet against a draw. Things happen very very quickly in the second innings in India, especially on a pitch that looks like this one.Draw for my quid anyway, but not quite a draw draw yet. It'll be interesting to see how the Aussies go at it if they aren't more than (say) 50 behind.
Agree with you chief, Hilfy is a champ. He's locked into this team as long as wants to be. It's especially good since everyone assumed he'd be James Anderson 2.0, good with swing, but crap on flat. It's very heartening for this Aussie fan on a disheartening day.Aye. Been a Trojan effort from the big fella for scant reward. 1/61 practically libel, tbh. I like the cut of his jib. I hate talking about lucky and unlucky bowlers, but the poor sod seems to get Chinese cut for 4 a heck of a lot.

Hauritz looking pale shadow of his former self at the moment tho, playing himself out of the Ashes IMHO.
