Certainly good enough to come 7th though so he's about ten places too low.

The best you can say about it is that it was good enough to achieve what I posted and at worst achieved what they did last year.

I don't really believe we'll get relegated - although even being in the relegation zone itself is a travesty - but the performances have been utter ****e and way below last year. The performances are actually unrecognisable as the team is set up differently and is performing differently as a result.

Kevin Davies is pretty useful. Don't really think there's any point getting uppity about his lack of subtletly.

Definitely a better pick than Owen would have been anyway.
No. Davies is premier league journeyman player. Their is nothing international quality about him.

Owen certainly would have been a better pick.

Can't or won't? For as far as I can see, there is no difference between Gareth Bale and the players we have named in terms of their eligibilty to play for England.
SMH, only on Crciketweb would have deal with this crap. I never even began to talk about his eligibility to play for ENG. Why are you two trying to insult my intelligence as if i dont know the home nations rules with regards to players eligibility?. You two are ridiculous.

What else do you think artciles are this are suggesting: Tottenham 3 Blackburn 1: Fabio Capello, you must wish Gareth Bale was English | Mail Online

Based on your comments, you two where probably the only people in ENG who wasn't disappointed Giggs couldn't play for us.

You never began to talk about his eligibility for England, but yet you proclaimed how wonderful it would be if he were English? I assume you therefore wish he was English for something other than footballing reasons.

And no, I imagine Giggs would have been very useful for England. I'm also very upset that Zidane, Rivaldo and Oliver Khan couldn't play for England too. Not to mention Puskas, who would definitely be a part of my England all time XI if he had played for them I am sure.

Haha, you were properly pushing it before though. I don't think you can feasibly suggest that the squad is good enough to finish above United, Arsenal or Chelsea, and finishing above Citeh seemed pretty unlikely too. People point out that the team hasn't changed that much from the one that finished second, but the competition hasn't just been standing still watching Liverpool wilt around them.

I thought Hodgson might take the hit from the fans belatedly realising their side wasn't quite as good as they thought it was. Looks like he's pretty bad at managing too though.

Well, there is a difference I think. Giggs did represent England in his youth I think, although I am no sure about Bale.

Well, no I am not suggesting the team as it is will win the EPL or get to those heights. The problem is when people start ****ting on the team and, specifically, the players trying to blame the previous manager for buying rubbish. That's why I point to those achievements because it's not like Rafa passed over Salif Diao, Djimi Traore and Neil Mellor.

Either the players were rubbish and Rafa is some kind of genius for achieving what he did, or they're good and Hodgson is seriously out of his depth. It isn't something to use to bash Rafa for, as GF was trying to do. People are pointing to the off-field turmoil and also blaming him for it. When it was actually worse under Rafa because he was at odds with those in charge whereas Hodgson is really their guy.

Learnt another 'fun' fact today. The last time we started this badly was 1953...the year we came last and were relegated.

Giggs represented England Schoolboys because he went to school in England. At no point in his career was Giggs ever actually eligible to play for England at age group or full international level.

Well, it does mention about how the fans have been reacting to a lot of Hodgson's interviews which I am not sure is as well known. He's basically alienated them.

I think putting Dalglish in is a hugeeeeee risk. But at the moment it seems a bigger risk letting Hodgson stay. Ideally, Pellegrini would come in.

Appointing a manager who hasn't had any considerable involvement in the game for the best part of a decade would be a somewhat unprecedented move for sure.

Ironically, we signed someone who whilst being involved in the game...publicly has admitted to using the same approach for decades.

Davies been one of the best target men in England for years now. Justified selection. SWP though? Clearly Downing would have been better.

No, if there's one player who wouldn't have been better, it's Downing (aside from comparing a left winger with a right winger that is)

I would've been interested in seeing what happened if Fabio had called up the Germany U21 captain personally - he's apparently a winger and is tearing up the Bundesliga.
