*Official* Pakistan in England 2010

King Pietersen

International Captain
Don't wish to jinx him, but Pietersen is looking as convincing as I've seen him in a Test match for a while. Not looking anywhere near as scratchy as he has earlier in the summer.

He hasn't looked the same to me since I seen him in Australia in 06/07, just not as imposing and dominant, more inconsistent and spasmodic

Not a great fan of pushing a keeper because of his batting first, what's his keeping like ?
Well when the other option people were pushing is Kieswetter......

But yeah, whenever I've seen Davies he's been good behind the stumps. Unlike Bedwetter who still shells some shockers.

Oh, Pantswetter, I seen plenty of him recently, his keeping is extremely sub-par, saved by his acrobaticness to make up for sloppy footwork and piss poor anticipation

Not sure about that. Looked as imposing as ever in 08 at home against South Africa, when he was jumping across his stumps and whipping Makhaya Ntini through the leg side with wreckless abandon. Looked pretty good in India after that and then in the West Indies the series after that too. He's just had a rough run with injuries, time out of the team and spells of poor form. I'm very confident that he'll return to his former glory in the next few months and have a blinder in Australia.

Yeah I didn't actually see him play in '08, but since those couple of serious injuries I guess he just doesn't appear as fluent or dominating.

 Thought he'd thrown it away there. Chipped to Gul who palms it over the bar for 4. Lucky for Pietersen, but that could be the luck he needs.

OOOHHHHH, both of these could be gone now "could have been", must be this cricket teams motto.....

Unusual to see a partnership between two batsmen with identical highest scores -- let alone highest score of 226 -- and at the moment almost identical averages -- 48.70 and 48.69.

I just don't like the way Ajmal bowls, he's quite short, yet he bowls fairly fast. I think he needs to throw it up a bit more, vary his pace and flight a bit more like say Vettori, and put some more overspin on it. He's not as tall as Harbhajan who can get away with bowling a bit quicker sometimes because he gets more bounce.

I just turned the TV set on and saw 70+ / 2 and thaught..mmmm must have rained and then noticed Pakistan 72

Man thats horrible!

I will stick to my Tier 1 / Tier 2 theory now...

 Pietersen dropped again. Almost identical to the one at Trent Bridge caught by Akmal, but he gets away with it here. KP surely has to go on and make a score now.
