*Official* Pakistan in England 2010

Hilfenhaus made 50 against these boys earlier in the summer, it happens, sometimes the tail enders play well and get a few, that's what happened here. Sure, the bowling wasn't great at times, but Gul played some magnificent strokes. The only time England bowled poorly at him, was Finn this morning bowling too short. The rest of his innings was made up with proper cricket shots, displaying some serious timing. It's not like it's had a huge impact on the match situation either, we're still miles ahead and have 8 wickets in hand. This has not been a poor England performance.

We're effectively 192-2 in the 2nd innings, in conditions excellent for bowling, taking on a team that are unlikely to make any more than 250 in the 4th innings. Cheer up FFS.

Come on Kevin, time to restore the faith and make a big score.
This is Scaly, he is relentlessly negative and not in a fun way.

Still these threads would never be the same without him.

HIlfenhaus made a 50 when the ball wasn't doing a great deal and Pakistan were somewhat resigned to defeat.

England let a complete numpty smash 65* with the ball hooping all over the place. It will happen again and again because they are absolutely clueless at dismissing lower orders. Even absolutely horrible ones. They don't attack the stumps. They relentlessly bang it in halfway and hope for the best, regardless of the pitch.

WTF? Kamran Akmal takes a blinder. KP gone cheaply again. His place must surely be under threat now? I love the bloke, but he really needs some runs. Could actually do with going back to County cricket and making some hundreds. Just a shame he's rubbed Hampshire up the wrong way.

KP. Total ****wit.

Needs a kick up the arse desperately. Respect the ball on its merit or go sit on the bench.

KP got a beauty to be fair to him, moved off the seam a mile and would of gone to the boundary but for the great unexpected catch off Akmal.

Pietersen averaging 42.88 since the captaincy debacle. He averages 39.28 since returning from the injury he had during the Ashes, and 37.60 this home season. Granted, there are a few innings against Bangladesh in and amongst that lot but if he hadn't set his own bar so high would we call for him to be dropped? We're happy for most of our batsmen to get by averaging 40, he hasn't done much worse in the worst period of his career.

Scaly, you do realise that the opposition are capable of doing good things that lead to England's downfall, right? It's not all down to the perceived ineptitude of the batsman/bowlers (depending on who's doing what), and certainly not in cases of screaming catches like that.

Trott gone as well. 66/4. Did keep a little bit low, but Trott was on the backfoot which made it seem like it kept lower than it actually did. Just glad we've got such a big lead.
