Because the truth has no relation to the argument who was the best team in the world. Not once did a NZ fan go into that thread and say "if Pakistan are here - surely NZ should be! We drew a series with them last year". They were realistic enough to say "Well, NZ shouldn't be in this poll at all as they are quite clearly not the best team in the world" and instead put a comment in about the thread at hand.

You, on the other hand, have to get your axe out and give it a big ol' grind.
Excuse me i admitted WI shouldn't be on the poll, but putting Pak up there gives the impression that they are better than us when the stats simply don't comply with that notion, so i called it out, this is a place to talk about CRICKET after all.

Nufan, who would you vote for though? BANG-PAK-WI-NZ for best team out of them?
If a tournament was to be played where the 4 teams played 3 matches at home (Pak in Eng) and 3 matches away and you got 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw and no one got injured throughout the tournament and the best XI played each match so the likes of Younis and Yousuf were available; I would go for Pakistan.

What if Younis and Yousuf weren't available, as it looks they aren't going to be picked again at the moment?

It's a shame their aren't any facts out there that prove the West Indies are a better team then Pakistan then.
And there's facts out there that prove Pakistan is better than us right?!! all people have to do is look at the past four years or even 18 months to see who's been the most competative with the top sides.

Look I agree that he often derails threads but this thread was basically created for the purposes of the debate he created in the other one. You may think he's biased and generally unpleasant but if you don't like it I suggest you don't open this thread because he's perfectly on topic.
Forum atmosphere surely.

West Indies

McCullum giving up the gloves is going to cost NZ heaps I feel especially if he bats in the top 3. NZ's pace attack looks a little weak at the moment too.

However with injuries and some unusual selections, whether it's political or selectors going for youth to build for the future, I think New Zealand are the most reliable team so I would go for them.

Nope, but you just implied that their are stats out their which prove the West Indies are the better test team. So unless they've played each other recently and none of us heard about it what and where can these stats be found?

Nope the facts prove that Pak AREN'T BETTER than us, which goes against what this poll is suggesting, do i believe we are better than Pak right now? yep, but as i said opinions are just opinions.

Again, where can I find these facts. Both teams losing to Australia doesn't prove anything and you'd be silly to rate the Windies higher because they lost 2-0 not 3-0 like Pakistan did.

Few guys being quite harsh on West Indies. I wouldn't be able to make a concrete statement considering the state of the West Indies injury department. However, along with Pakistan, I consider the Windies to have the greater potential in the upcoming years.

So us NOT getting whitewashed and actually beating a top side like England doesn't mean anything? yeah ok!! .

When it comes to WI a lot of people are bitter and revel in putting us down G-S, i don't know where it came from but it seems to be getting worse.

Well, no surprises with the Poll result thus far, massively comprehensive as I anticipated with almost every cricket fan thinking Pakistan currently have a stronger test side than the Windies. After WW questioned whether many would actually disagree with him on this yesterday, I knew once this result came out he'd change to saying that it's only people's opinion. So so predictable.
