Cricket, Lovely Cricket
I love the millions of accents UK/England have, the little diversities, the friendly rivalries and camraderie in all of that. Fascinating and great.

Anyway mexico outplaying argentina, not a a surprise as argentina seem to have no tactics or plan.

Agree with Grecian unsurprisingly. Nearly every post on football GF makes is tiresome and involves hating on someone obvious.

Surprised Maradona hasn't put Milito in as a centre back on the basis that he'll probably score regardless of defensive quality.

There's no camaraderie, England conquers somewhere, they remain bitter and twisted for ever more.

Hey passionate soccer fans.

How much weight do you put on international performances when judging a player?

Will Rooney take a hit for his poor WC. And, for e.g., is Ronaldo from Brazil an all-time-great for his international performances. Zidane too. Whereas a Gerrard hasn't really done much on the biggest stage?

Or is it all about domestic performances, and the Champions LEague etc.?

Bizarre goal.

edit: Looks like it should have been offside. Might have been saved by the fact that it wasn't totally clear whether or not Tevez touched it.

Haha offsides...what another terrible decision. Two for USA, one for England and now against Mexico...

I'm sure there has to be a way to introduce a review system that doesn't break the flow of the game too much?

They were suggesting that the referee may override it. Is that possible?

Is it like cricket, where the umpire can call the batsman back?

Obviously you can't use video reviews for most decisions given the nature of the sport, but there's really no reason not to use it when the ball goes into the net. Play stopped for a few minutes there anyway while the referres discussed the goal, why not check the video if you're already doing that?

I'm all for avoiding interrupting open play unnecessarily, but this just seems silly.

Farce.

Football, I hate you.

Offside. We know it's offside, the Mexicans know it's offside and now the lino knows it's offside.

Farce. Farce, farce, farce. **** off and come back with some proper rules.
