No. What will happen is that their actual match payments will be much much much less than $1m a season. The rest of the money will come from the publicity work they'll do for the club.

It's like Chris Judd's tireless work for Visy

Do Folau (and Hunt) come under the rookie list so therefore the AFL pays their salaries and not under the salary cap?
I think they're taking $200 000 - $300 000 of the salary, pretty much all of the team's marketing allowance for the next three years, plus the AFL are kicking in a bit as well. The reality is they have to pay 'overs' for elite players to switch to entirely new codes. It's a unique situation though with these two new clubs, in largely unconquered areas, coming into the game. I don't think it will be repeated for a long long time (the grossly inflated salaries for someone who hasn't played the game), if ever.

Yeah, loves the environment. Gets around in a Toyota Prius from all reports.

Heard some pretty vitriolic things against Folau today at uni. Was a whole group of what looked like pretty angry NRL supporters gathered together shouting "Down with Israel" and all that. I mean I understand frustrations run deep but there's no need to call him a murderer or a terrorist.
 Genuine lol there. Although 99*'s topped it.

Best game of the season for mine. So much passion. Was like a GF.

Hayne and Slater both ****ed for Origin.

Haha.. Hope you're watching the GF replay. Ridiculous game tbh.
You know for a minute when I saw the Melbourne teams run out I thought you were there leading the chorus of boos against the Storm players. Too bad no **** bothered to turn up.

Inglis to go too by the sounds of it. Just need Slater, Thurston, Smith, Conk, Prince and Boyd to go and we might win a orgin series. Loving the fact they are only taking Queenslanders.
