Speaking of falling over when conditions get tough (pitch-wise)...... Don't think he plays at his best when not the only game in town too. Good against spin, though, which the Aussie top order could do with a dose of. Quite pleasing to watch against spin really, looks the business when using his feet and playing inside-out through cover.
And Hughes averaged 140 for Middlesex before the Ashes, whats your point?Tum Tum, White has made a stack of runs in English conditions, playing County Cricket.
You said;And Hughes averaged 140 for Middlesex before the Ashes, whats your point?
.....which is incorrect. That's his point. Bringing up Hughes is irrelevant.White has not made any runs outside of Victoria which suggests that he is not suited for batting in tougher or different conditions.
On the Taunton road which nobody counts over here.Tum Tum, White has made a stack of runs in English conditions, playing County Cricket.
I meant in Australia. Most Australian batsmen manage to get easy runs playing at County,You said;

Well be more specific because English conditions are almost certainly more different and tougher in comparison to Victorian conditions than conditions in Queensland for example.I meant in Australia. Most Australian batsmen manage to get easy runs playing at County,
Who really cares, don't look at a few games that he played at County, all it does is screw with your brain. Look at the bigger picture, which shows he has a crap FC record in general.Well be more specific because English conditions are almost certainly more different and tougher in comparison to Victorian conditions than conditions in Queensland for example.
I knew you'd say that, was nearly going to put a "and Zac, don't say Klinger" PS on my post!
This this this. Flat as in Somerset.On the Taunton road which nobody counts over here.
More like you were trying to dress up what you've since acknowledged is a purely subjective preference based on a couple of games you saw on TV as having some basis in the two players' records when in fact that difference doesn't exist in the way you suggested, so now you're trying to redefine terms and stat slice yourself out of a hole. Just put your hand up and say that you think Ferguson is a better player than White purely on your opinion of what you've seen of them both and leave their records out of it. People might not agree with you, but no-one can say you're wrong either, and you look less dodgy!Who really cares, don't look at a few games that he played at County, all it does is screw with your brain. Look at the bigger picture, which shows he has a crap FC record in general.

You can see how **** he has been, and only a few stints at County kept his career going.
Averaging mid 40's since 2007 by that list. Quick query shows he averages about that away from the MCG too (one big knock making a decent contribution but it was a top knock).Who really cares, don't look at a few games that he played at County, all it does is screw with your brain. Whereas Ferguson's been batting on a minefield at the Adelaide Oval obviously.This this this. Flat as in Somerset.
Don't know who I'd prefer over White. He really struggles against the moving ball.

Yep agree with this completely!Averaging mid 40's since 2007 by that list. Quick query shows he averages about that away from the MCG too (one big knock making a decent contribution but it was a top knock).
Don't forget, he wasn't always a top-order bat for Vic. Since he stopped appearances at the bowling crease, he's batted and captained quite well in a team already chock full of batting guns. I'm not saying he should be in the Test team but that he's even in the conversation shows how far he's come and it's definitely been on the back of his batting. This aside from his fairly awesome form in limited overs matches for OZ.
If you just don't like him, fine. But his recent numbers have been excellent.
If you read my posts again you will see that I was saying they both suckJust put your hand up and say that you think Ferguson is a better player than White purely on your opinion of what you've seen of them both and leave their records out of it.
In fairness, weirdly, all of his FC tons have come away from Adelaide airport. He's the sort of player who needs pace to work with although in the year leading up to his injury, seemed far better in defence.Whereas Ferguson's been batting on a minefield at the Adelaide Oval obviously.![]()
