Best knock I've seen from an Indian player outside of VVS was Dravid's twin fifties in the fourth Test in West Indies. Those were the best knocks in his career.

There were no decisions which were 'clear as hell'. Due to the pitch being horrendous, there were several extremely close decisions. The umpires in that match claimed to have aged several years umpiring that match. Despite being given out for a wrong call, Gavaskar praised the umpiring in that match. None of this can change the fact that it was one of the greatest Innings ever played as Imran Khan and co. will testify.

Agree S Waugh's 65 in the 95 WI series.
Ponting's knock at Headingly 09 made a bad deck look a road.
One of those times you shake your head at the great ones, compared to how the mortals perform on the same pitch.
Brett Lee Edgbaston 05 a great shout for a tail ender vs hostile bowling, likewise TBA May vs WI Adelaide 93.
Both in losing causes too.

How about Sourav Ganguly's 51* and V.v.s Laxman's 77 at Johannesburg against South africa in 2006 getting India that win?
Specially the Ganguly innings was incredibly important with him making his comeback.
Tendulkar's 97 out of 225 in this match at the wankhede was a very special innings too against Pollock/Donald on a difficult track in 2000 rivalling Gavaskars in the first post.

V.VS LAXMAN made 69 and Sachin Tendulkar 55 on a rank turner where facing every ball was a challenge against Australia in 2004 at the Wankhede,Mumbai.
They battled very hard in very very tough conditions ,where literally every ball was jumping and turning.THE test ended only in less than 2 and 1/2 days after the majority of the first day was rained out.
Ultimately it lead to India getting a consolation win in that series with Australia crumbling to 93 in the second innings having been set a target of 107 after a first innings lead.

Trescothick at Edgbaston in 05.England had been thrashed at Lords and after Ponting sent us in with a weakened attack Tresco smashed them all over Birmingham before being out for 90 to give England the upper hand in the match and ultimately the series.
Flintoff 73 in the same game when England looked like collapsing in the 2nd innings as the Aussies fought to get back in the match.Even Warne congratulated him as they left the field.

Rahul Dravid's 72 not out in the second innings against Australia at Adelaide in 2003 leading india to win.It often gets overlooked due to his Double century in the first innings ,but with India on the verge of choking in the second innings he remained not out and guided the team to a very famous win. It was equally important to his double in the first innings.

Hmm.. I feel that particular knock gets a tad over-rated as a match-saving knock, what with being Waugh's last innings and all. I reckon Australia would have saved that game anyway.

Sourav Ganguly's 87 on a deteriorating pitch against South Africa at kanpur in 2008. The Pitch had a lot of variable bounce and balls were kicking from everywhere.It also had a good amount of turn. This innings ultimately led to A India win despite the South africans having a big advantage batting first on that pitch.

He consumed a lot of balls and time.
Had it not been for him i have no doubt India would have won (and ofcourse not for mr.Bucknor
). It was the partnership between Waugh and Katich that saved the match.Yes he had some luck but to do that in his last innings was really special. Not many have performed that well in their very last test innings and contributed to the team's cause.
The last innings really summed up his gritty career and him standing up when it counted.

Yeah, but there was Gilchrist still to come (though he failed when he came in without any pressure) and Gillespie and the tail as well. I think India just didn't have the firepower in that match to bowl Australia out twice, barring Kumble. In fact, it looked as if Australia might even have an outside chance of winning it at one stage. If Gilchrist had come in earlier, it could have turned out like that Test against Pakistan in Hobart in '99.
