Thoughts on the pen? More conclusive evidence that the referee hates you?
Yeah maybe I'm going mad, but how exactly do you get a penalty from kicking the defender and falling over? Admittedly I didn't see a replay of the incident, but there wasn't one person who I was watching it with, including several Arsenal fans, who thought it was a penalty.

Nah, was a penalty IMO, Puyol didn't have any intention of getting the ball, and I'm 90% certain he was aware Fabregas was there. Even if he didnt mean to make contact with him, he did, and for all Cesc's dying swan impression, it did impede his shot. Alas, clear open goal, by letter of the law tis a red (though a bloody harsh one)

Arsenal was the better side in the first half with Nasri almost scoring. Ibrahimovic scored early in the second half with a fair bit of luck. Then Barcelona scored again! Barcelona dominated in the second half before a great chance for Nicklas Bendtner for Arsenal superbly saved by Valdes after which Arsenal came back strongly. Walcott’s goal was excellent. The Fabregas penalty tied it up.

As a Barcelona fan I rue the score being 2-2 after being 2-0 up but we still have the away goal advantage. It will be one hell of a build up and match in Nou Camp.
 wat?

Was going to post the same thing but thought better of it

2 players running side by side and one of them goes for a kick, misses the ball, makes contact with the other and falls over

How the **** was that a foul?

Almost laughably bad IMO

The suggestion it was side by side is more laughable IMO.
Or the idea he "missed the ball" he pulled his leg back but didn't have a chance to go for the shot as Puyol had trapped his leg.
See what you see but I reckon you're in the minority here and probably because most see that you're wrong.

I've only seen it once on Sky but I think it's fair to say that when the English anchor describes it as "dubious" then you know that it's hardly clear cut

Hmm, hate to say it lads, but think Fabregas deserved his yellow. OK wasn't studs up, kept his foot on the floor, but still a clumsy sliding tackle from behind that was lucky to just catch the ball first. Another fraction of a second and could've been a potential ankle breaker. Now we all know the rules on tackles from behind, especially with Euro refs who's idea of physical contact is picking up the brown paper bag, but TBH sliding in like that he shouldn't have expected anything else.

Not that it matters now. He doesn't so much need a physio, more of a visit from Autoglass.....
Absolute rubbish.

Might as well outlaw all tackling if we all subscribe to that viewpoint.

Stuck With Berbatov? Poor Things...

If I were a United fan, I would not be worrying about going into Saturday's match against Chelsea having been forced into fielding one of the best footballers in Europe as the lone striker. I'd be too busy worrying about the composition of a midfield that looked almost as lost against Munich as Barcelona.
Definitely agree with this.

Whites are on Sky Sports tomorrow night people. I'll be on the front row on the end where all the goals will be scored in the first half (i.e. the end we shoot on in the second). What more reason could you need to tune in?

I agree that it does discourage tackling and makes the game ****weak, but the rules are sliding tackles from behind are prohibited and a bookable offence, even if contact with the ball

More likely to see people a few rows up after all the shots fly over the bar.

The hits just keep on coming for the Gunners - Cesc out for minimum six weeks, Gallas and Arshavin out for at least three weeks each.

I still haven't actually seen a rerun, but that's not how I remember it at all. Seemed to me that Fabregas kicked Puyol rather than Puyol trapping Fabregas. Puyol wasn't even looking at him, and as far as I'm aware he's not obliged to get out of the way.

So, latest cracked bone in the leg for Arsenal. Is it just a coincidence or deliberate dirty play and targetting soft Arsenal players?

I've got a better idea. Gallas and Arshavin both went down with recurrances of injuries after being rushed back too soon. Is Arsenal's physio team ****e?

Discuss.

Roy Hodgson is turning out to be quite the miracle worker for Fulham, since they beat Wolfsburg 2-1. The commentators said that on this day 15 years ago in the old 4th Division, Fulham were getting beaten by Scarbrough, who are now 5th in the Northern Counties East Football League Premier Division and Fulham are 12th in the Premiership. How fortunes have changed.

Liverpool go down 2-1 to Benfica as Oscar Cardozo scores two penalties, but at least Liverpool get an away goal though. Would still back Liverpool at Anfield though.

15 Years Ago it was the old Third Division /pedant

Amazing what the likes of Fulham/Wigan/Hull have gone on to do with their sizeable cash injections.
