Whatever it takes!!!
Thanks for the mention, Pratters.. I would like to do the job, depending on how my schedules and stuff are at the US... Possibly, with my laptop and net connection around all the time, I could end up getting a lot of time on CW.. But I would like to wait it out and see how I adjust for the first couple of weeks and then decide..

On a different note, I would like to see moderators like Loonybob, Rich2001, Neil Pickup, Mister Wright (? Don't know if he is active enough) and Liam who are no longer active/hardly active on the forum removed from the moderator list. They are there in name only.
You have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Just because someone is not "active" does not mean that they are not moderating.

They are not moderating really if they aren't moderating in the forum. It is not that difficult to understand.

I see people not active as staff members removed from the staff list. I don't ever see mods added removed. But it is their final call in the end.
Who do you think you are? And no staff members have been removed from the list for not being active anytime recently, and how would you know the reason anyway?

None in the recent past Pratters, I would be aware of this you know...

Stupid argument anyway, but it is bloody irritating to see you stating what should be happening within mod teams and staff teams. Commenting on mod decisions is one thing as we've all discussed, but what on earth gives you the right to say, "X, Y and Z should no longer be doing these jobs"???????

Recent past. Heh. I have seen plenty removed in the past but NEVER any mods.

And, I have the right to have my opinions. I don't believe the mods should be removed if the mod team feels they are stronger by their addition as I have mentioned.

You have a right to an opinion, you don't have the right to decide who should and shouldn't be a mod, seriously, it's getting old fast.

Pratters, if you wish to discuss moderating policy, then contact the mod team either via email or on MSN.

Chill. I just aired an opinion. And I also don't believe the mods should be changed if the mod team doesn''t feel they should, I repeat for the third time.

It's an interesting one because a lot of moderating goes on behind the scenes and the discussion is quite intergral to the consensus method of moderating we have here. But (as I mentioned at the start of the thread) I would like to see a greater readiness to drop inactive moderators and I think that in turn may have a positive effect on other mods who understandably get lazy after a while. I also don't think it's right that one or two mods have to do the brunt of the public work whilst some of the others just hide behind the scenes, popping out once in a blue moon. A mod should be active in both areas if they're not there's plenty of brilliant candidates that can do the job.

Pratters, if you felt the issue was dealt with adequately by Prince EWS, then why post 8 additional posts in the topic?

I was merely responding to people going hyper on me. 'Who do you think you are' by GIMH. Heh. I deleted the post where I said it was dealt adequately by Prince EWS but I believe he did.

I sense a distinctly negative "atmosphere" building up in this thread.

The most important thing about this forum is that everyone is a cricket fan no matter what anyone thinks of individual posting styles or personalities. Even multi-user so-called "trolls" like Precam or BIngLee/shanewarne etc were still cricket fans at heart.

Putting my hand up for moderation duties. Never been infracted in the past and I am active daily even if I don't post.

I would love to hear from the moderators as to why subcontinent moderators have not been appointed. The time zone issue is a bit puzzling really because with all due respects to Gingerfurball whom I really frankly haven't followed enough to judge him but certainly believe is a great pick, belongs to Glasgow (according to his location) and hence adds to the considerable European based moderators (from location mentioned - Jamee99, LoonyBob, Neil Pickup) Is it because the number of subcontinent based posters are far lesser in numbers here? Or is it that the forum just do not have quality subcontinent based posters who can qualify as moderators? I am not sure about the latter as from what I've seen here, guys like Jeevan, Gi Joe, etc have shown to be quite on par if not above the average posting quality of members in CW.
