Yeah, loads of bluster about Warne's genius in IPL1, but a lot of it was thanks to Watson, who was effectively two of the best players in the tournament, and Tanvir's bowling. Obviously Warne was very good with how he got the team together, but without the firepower Rajasthan are always going to struggle.

They should have bought someone sensible in the auction, I mean, Damien Martyn, wtf?

Tait has got to be the most overrated cricketer of all time.
Not really.

When he gets things right, he's probably the most devastating bowler there is. See World Cup 2007 - sure he got carted a few times, but I've never seen anyone throw down as many deliveries that batsmen simply couldn't play.

When he gets things wrong, he's horrid.

Has to be the cheapest player in the IPL

Will probably break the world speed record at some stage, possibly be instrumental in his team winning the tournament and he's being paid a couple of hundred grand???????

Makes Ishant's 950k look like the world's worst ever buy

RR's 2008 win was mostly because of Watson, Smith, Tanvir and Yousuf. Take out Watson and Tanvir and with Smith not scoring RR will struggle. Warne's weird buys at the bidding will not be called genius if they do very badly this year.

-Itv beats sky sports over the weekend in nos of viewers. This is great going.

Hope CSK turns it around against KKR. Play 3 spinners I would say with the way our fast bowlers performing.

Yeah to be fair I watched it instead of the football yesterday which I have to pay for with Sky Player.
Watched today as well although that is not really surpsing as it was the middle of the afternoon and I was avoiding doing any work.

In Hindi there is a proverb about the "difficulties of cooking again and again in a wooden cooking pot"

I always felt, even during their dream run during the first edition, Rajasthan and Warne's bluff and bluster cant keep on working. They really aren't such a great side. I believe they are going to get some reinforcements then maybe..... For the moment, unless Smith plays a big hand much more often they do not look threatening at all.
Hardly, IMO. Rajasthan lost their best batsman (and all-rounder and mots) and best bowler. If it was the same team that lost the next two series then you could say that. Them being a massive underdog pulled through by the brilliance of Warne is a bit of a myth, they had some damn good players.

Yep.

Only caught one over last night of his spell. Started off poorly with a wide or two but had a fantastic yorker and seemed to be enjoying himself and getting better as things went on.

From what I caught of Sehwag's innings last night, some of the sixes were a bit meh leading up to the fifty, but on 49 he pulled off a brilliant uppercut and then an awesome smack back over the bowlers head, was Haydenesque. Didn't seem to care too much though.

Tait was never going to catch that, drops everything in the outfield. Also agree Smith made the catch look harder than it was.

Sehwag just takes the piss with the IPL really. He could have been out on his first ball.

He's worth the gamble though, not only because of his playing style and his natural technique, but he basically stole the game away from Rajasthan and gave his own team no chance of a choke.

Kind of a good way of chasing small targets. Just make sure you put your team in a position where they'd have to be absolutely hopeless to screw up a chase when you need less than 4 rpo.

tbh watching Sehwag in the IPL is pretty boring. See him hitting sixes all year against much better bowlers and bigger boundaries (and a new red ball with slips). More fun watching Dravid, Kallis and co squirming their way over the boundaries :p
