For the one day team? IMO if your good enough your old enough. Averaged 45 last season in 11 matches, and this year he's averaging 103 in six matches. He's probably put up the best numbers over the last two years in domestic one day cricket, I don't see the point of him smashing attacks for two more years tbh, how will that help his game?

The problem is though, there isn't currently a place for him with Ryder, McCullum, Guptill and Taylor all doing well in the top four and Elliott doing nothing wrong at five. What will probably need to happen is Brendon McCullum will just have to move down the order with Guptill moving up to open with Ryder.
Well we don't need him and if he can keep developing his game at the domestic level he won't need much more to learn when he makes the step up.

Wellingto are pies - like Dave. The guy is dropping out of contention. Perhaps he should look to life after cricket?

Good to see Sonny Chan getting pasted. Such an arrogant prick. Happy to defend my position if he signs up a la McClenaghan.

Whats the guy done to earn his tag?

On Williamson: Oddly I'm with Howsie on this one. If they're going great guns over at least two seasons, then age doesn't matter too much.

It's where they're plucked out of domestic cricket after four games with one century and a few below ten scores that things can get interesting.

Consider there is a world cup to build for too...

Wellington are smoking Canterbury at the moment, 77-0 after seven overs. Bond and Martin are getting hit around.

Not a single boundary in that, interesting reading.
Does anyone know who this M Pollard is? Just saying that if you know him it might be time to start cozying up. With a name like that he could be a millionaire by this time next year.

Rhodes and Pollard have been showing there is some depth in Wellington's youth. Even if Rhodes is an Aussie we've pinched.

Three pretty good matches on display here, all of them up in the air.

Good to see Gillespie back and taking those early wickets, Gillespie and McKay sound like a good prospect for us in the plunket shield if the blackcaps don't nick McKay for Tests.

Bopara making runs at Cobham Oval, I've seen it all now haha. Sounds like he played a good knock though, about time.

Northern have just lost 3/14 and still need another 100 with 20 odd overs to go, Williamson will need to go on here.

Williamson goes for 81 and Yovich follows him two balls later for 40, ND still need 18 to win with five overs left so they should do it.

Otago chased down CD's score with two balls to spare, Anthony Bullick put in a man of the match effort with a well made 33 of 20 ball as well as taking 4-60. It's good to see him doing well as he's actually got some pretty decent pace behind him from what I've been told.

Canterbury chased down Wellington's 299 with an over and a half to spare, Blackcap in waiting Shannan Stewart striked 100 of only 78 balls.
