*Official* Pakistan in Australia

Why hate on marsh

Who to replace though? I would move Haddin to opener, drop Marsh and replace with Warner at 7. I really like the idea, has been awesome for NSW playing this role.

Forget about statistics and averages for a second why would anyone want Shaun Marsh to be dropped. Just about everyone back home in India has huge wraps on him. He is IMO one of the best 20 20 batsman in the world. And he just keeps churning out the runs for Australia In One Day Cricket. IMO marsh has a bright future in all 3 forms of the game.

Haddin's record opening the batting in the past year or so is a bit better than Marsh's. Also allows for a bit more balance with a hitter or extra all rounder at 7. Although when at full strength (the likes of Lee and Bracken back into the fold ahead of McKay and PDiddle) they don't really need the extra bowling option.

At this very point I think we are relying on Watson far, far too much. He shouldn't be required to bowl 10 overs a game while being an opener. Pakistan's deplorable batting is the only thing masking our pretty ordinary bowling. If Windies play a full strength batting lineup I think the current balance/bowling deficiencies will become a bit more apparent.

The one thing that goes against all this is the fact that Marsh is an excellent foil for Watson who will be the more aggressive opener more oft than not.

Yeah he can definately do the job. Dan Christian is also there as is Steve Smith. Warner the best bat, Smith is the best bowl and Chistian is somewhere in the middle. Warner and Smith are also fantastic in the field (not sure about Christian).

Playing Christian or Smith would mean that you could lose a bowler (2 specialist quicks and Haurtiz). Warner would obviously come in at the cost of a batsman.
I take christian as the best fielder of the 3, would love to see him called up.

Any idea why Mitch isn't playing today?

I guess the selectors are having a mini bowl off between Siddle, McKay and Harris to see who should play in our full strength side.

Marsh off to a blazing start once again. If he keeps going like this, he will become the greatest ever ODI opener.

Love watching S Marsh bat.

Theres a good chance he will get another score here today.

Whats happened to Umar Gul seriously he was so good 12 -18 months ago in the shorter formats.

Bet365 has a higher/lower after 20 overs with the score 99.5.

Reckon it's definitely going to be lower..

I have a feeling that Kamran akmal is going to hit a century today lol.. he took a catch.. that would give him some confident when he comes out to bat..

bring afridi.. can't wait to see him bowle or bat..

AWTA. Marsh was awful today and IMO forced Haddin's hand as Ponting and Clarke weren't going to up the run rate.
