Just quietly, Ponting's career average is now below 55. He was up to 60 a few years ago, and Dravid was right behind him. Now, as we see with most players during their decline, it's now below 55, and might end up in the low fifties for both.
Ponting's average below 55 now. Anyone remember when he averaged 60 during the 2006 Ashes? He was God-like back then.

Now he'll be below Sachin soon, in runs, centuries and average

Assuming Tendulkar's doesn't drop as well.

Hasn't had a great time of it lately with the bat has Ricky. A summer to forget for him so far.

I actually say 200.
Really?

He is 28 now. Lets say he plays regularly for another 5 years at 8 Tests a year (possible injuries, lack of form etc) and takes 2 wkts a Test (which seems a fair number) then he will take 80 more to go with his current 23 to give him 103.

How do you work out 200?

Just throwing it out there, what do we think is the under/over on career Test wickets for Watson? Do we think he will take 100 in his career?
Absolutely. He's averaging about two wickets a test since he came back into the team, and that's about what he manages in FC cricket as well. That's not taking into account the fact that in a couple of those tests, and in his FC career plenty of times, he's played as a batsman. If he stays fit and has a career of reasonable length I could see him taking 150+.
