Ball of the decade:
Taylor to Pietersen @ Sabina

Ball (out of the rough) of the decade:
Warne to Strauss @ Old Trafford (?)

Catch of the Decade:
Voges (was it?) against some team or other

All very specific stuff, I know.
I dont think that was out of the rough you know, i think ball was off the the good part of the pitch. Got to watch it again..

Some other comparable ball's of the decade are:

- Murali vs Dhoni @ Chennai 05

- Warne to Laxman @ Bangalore 04

- Warne to Vaas @ Colombo 04 (definately out of the rough)

- Murali to Butcher @ Birmingham 02

Off the top of my head. It's hard to me to recall previous corkers after 2005.

Ball of the century

Mendis to Dravid (2008)

Innings of the century:

Gilchrist double hundred against SA (2001)

Laxman's 281

warne in 2005 ashes and in 2004 vs SL are performances to cherish for a lifetime.

I was trying to look for stellar performances in a match, not a series

gilly's 57 ball century and warne's bowling against SA in his 100th test were awesome performances too.

i dont know if I feel this way because I am an indian. but laxman's 281 is the best test knock of the decade. and, even though I am an indian, akhthar's 5-16 vs australia was the greatest bowling performance in a long long time. while the first one was great because it influenced the result of the match (and the series, psychologically) the second one is a wonderful performance despite it coming in a losing cause....

Kamran Akmal's innings in that innings when Irfan Pathan got a hattrick in the first over. Right up there with the best innings of the decade. Got Pakistan to a good position after they had been reduced to 39/6.

Probably because of the result of the series. It should've been his IMO. He even did pretty well with the bat. Only scored 150 less runs in the series than Freddy but oodles more wickets and much cheaper.
No. It was because Freddie was big in matches won by England.

4th Test: England v Australia at Nottingham, Aug 25-28, 2005 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com

2nd Test: England v Australia at Birmingham, Aug 4-7, 2005 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com

Freddie was the 3rd Highest scorer in the series and second Highest wicket taker, he was involved in some of the most crucial batting partnerships and bowled against the better batting attack.

One of the great performance was by Rahul Dravid's 148 @ Headingley. Those who watched the game will tell you how difficult it was to bat on that pitch, those who go by scorecards will simply say it was a flat track.

ODI inning of 2000s was 87 Not Out by Md. Kaif in Natwest Final 2002:-

Final: England v India at Lord's, Jul 13, 2002 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com

I can not believe it has not even got a mention here, but again that is what sums up Md. Kaif's career.

Best Innings from Dravid were his two fifties in the fourth Test in the West Indies. Insanely good, I've never seen a better innings from him (or from most players).
