Love it how CWers are still criticising Ponting for making a decision that received the unqualified support of some of cricket's most highly regarded "brains" (Warne, Benaud and Chappelli) and in spite of the current scorecard

Did you guys miss the rest of day 2 or something?

It was a very brave decision by Poontang to declare when he did but it has worked very well. Then again even this dodgy Aussie attack should easily see off this very poor Pakistan batting line up.Without Younis Khan they are very weak in the batting department,a lot depends on young Akmal tomorrow.

Reality is that this pitch offers a bit of bounce pace and movement - all things that the Pakistanis generally struggle to come to terms with

Added to that is that this "dodgy" attack is easily the best pace attack in the world atm (e.g. compare them to the rubbish that the Saffies and Indians are serving up) but young with questionable stamina

Good decision that has paid off to date IMO

Shame your attack couldn't take 20 wickets last summer often enough though eh pal.

You're being very ****y considering Eng only have 2 South Africans left to bat

Once they're out, SA are into the tail sorry Poms
Australia sure had fun getting that 'tail' out over the summer. After all, the guy batting at 9 in this pissweak batting line-up averages 35 against them (and 36 overall).

Good call on commenting on the nationality of our batsmen though, pretty sure you're the first to do that. or rather, who gives a ****, they play for England, why don't you and the rest of the world get over it.

The real reason why pom-bashing never became an Olympic sport is that it's too easy and it would take too long to decide a winner

Anyway, will be off-line for a while whilst I read "Great Post-War English-born Sportsmen"

Just watched some one hour highlights on Sky Sports. There was some fine bowling from Australia; Doug, Mitch, Watto and Siddle were all at 140kph and either got noticeable bounce or swing. It really was a top effort from what I suspect will be a very strong attack, in years to come.

Whilst your little dig made me chuckle, I'm taking your lack of comment on us having the world's best tail to be you conceding the point :p

TBF, whilst Swann, Broad etc are good, without Warne Oz bowlers make all tails look good

If you look at our performances over the last couple of years, top orders arent the problem but finishing off an innings is

****, we've evn made Harby and Zaheer look good batsmen

If you saw Dale Steyn this morning, you'll see we're pretty good at the same :(

At least he only made 47 today

He scored an untroubled 76 against us to help snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at the MCG last year so you could say that we got his eye in for you guys

Well it was pretty ****ing stupid when he sent Umar Akmal out at three in New Zealand, but Faisal Iqbal is a top order batsman - just a bad one. Don't have an issue with it here. It's not like he's Chanderpauling it up batting five either; he'll bat four which is hardly hiding.
Faisal Iqbal just proves to me that being related to Javed Miandad does have its benefits.
