FFS the Foxtel speed gun is faulty.Bollinger ahead of Clark at this stage IMO. Stuey needs to show he can top 125kph consistenty before he can be considered for a test spot again.
Well to be fair Clark in the Champions trophy in all the games was bowling between 118-125 - thats reliable speed gun if you have doubts about foxtel.FFS the Foxtel speed gun is faulty.
According to it, Lee barely registered 135km yesterday.
Their speed gun has been murdering guys all Summer.
It's going to end careers this thing.
Geeves shouldn't be near test consideration, he is barely ODI quality. Would have to say Nannes. I personally think he is better than Bollinger, but the selectors unfortunately see him as T20 specialist. Noffke can't bee too far off the radar either i reckon, with Clark seemingly finished - he is best metronome type bowler in domestic cricket.Pretty sure Siddle will be fit anyway, so not a real big issue, but I reckon they've made it pretty clear that he is the next 'bolter' so to speak. Can't see them going outside the 3 incumbents, Clark and Bollinger though to be honest... Who'd be next cab off the rank though? Geeves maybe?
Yeah I don't like Watson opening either but I reckon Punter will be able to get Hussey in for 1 more Test... First trip and he's gone though, I reckon. Selectors made a clanger when they kept picking him in the Test XI, and his hundred effectively came when the match was gone rather than in 1st innings when runs were crucial.
Seemingly though, yourself/myself/Howardj are the few who I've noticed suggest that Hussey is gone so am expecting a grilling!
wasn't aimed at you. I don't even have Foxtel ffs.
Nannes is injured, out for at least a month.Geeves shouldn't be near test consideration, he is barely ODI quality. Would have to say Nannes. Yeah when had his elbow injusy his pace went down by 10k's from mid 130's to mid 120's and this seriously hampered his effectivness, yes the extra yard of pace is important for trundlers aswell.Nah, I'm generally not too fussed about speeds. "above 125kph" was my tongue in cheek short hand to say that he's IMO visibly lost a yard of pace and that this has significantly impacted the level of threat he poses to test batsmen in normal conditions. He's never been a bowler that relied predominantly on pace, but I think the things he does rely on are too easily negotiated if he's bowling genuine medium pace. If that drop in speed was due to injury and reverses itself as he gets match fitness, then game on.
this thing must be stopped
Can't imagine Langer as a batting coach to these current international players, he seems somewhat too intense. I would have thought he'd be better employed at an academy or state level.Anyone else think that Langer's appointment as batting coach is a sign that Phil Hughes will be opening the batting for Australia at the GABBA?
Damn. Well when fit again, he should be next in line. Aus shouldn't worry with his age, they picked Colin Miller @ 37 & he gave us 3 very good years whenever he played.Nannes is injured, out for at least a month.
Yea but unfortunately that didn't make it a wise decision - Nannes should have toured SA for & probably played in those tests tbf. Even if Geeves apparantley has a better FC record, based on what i've seen of him in ODIs i struggle to see what use he could have in tests. Not too worried about Geeves as ODI standard as he is a much better longer form bowler, his form in that department has been ok this year and he was with the Test squad is South Africa.
Ha ye unfortunately. But as i said now that Clark is done & Lee test career on the crossroads. Noffke is the best line bowler to compliment Hilfy/Sidds/Jonno.Noffke will never play for Australia again - he went to the same school of bridge burning that Brad Hodge did.
No, but if he appears at the Gabba it will in place of North, not Hussey.Anyone else think that Langer's appointment as batting coach is a sign that Phil Hughes will be opening the batting for Australia at the GABBA?
