Will be huge for his own test career as well! He should be averaging more than 38, and he has the talent to.
One test century in 38 test matches is really surprising. His conversion rate is pretty poor, granted that he's coming in lower down the order but for a man of his talent he should have more test centuries.

Especially since he's had a few flat tracks in his day.

Had a test century all but sewn up in England but his ego got the better of him as he wanted to hit Petersen for six every ball.

Changed man since then though.

Sanga was my favourite but he did act like a **** a few times in the series against Pak and NZL so my respect for him has gone down a touch.
Oh really, what happened?

I know a few fans were unhappy with Sanga after the T20 WC final, as he didn't congratulate Pakistan.

Dravid has been involved in 78 100+ run partnerships, the highest ever in test cricket.

Good batsman to have on the other end.

Wow Dravid just took over the great Stephen Waugh in total test runs!
 for some weird reason i thought cricinfo was talking about Dhoni...... my page wasn't loading up and i was thinking... "5th highest Scorer in what terms... this year ? :P

Well done Dravid... brilliant to see him back in form :)
Shame India aren't playing too many test matches this season.

India play no more Tests after this until the end of 2010 (except 2 Tests in Bangladesh in January). Such a disgrace. And very highly annoying. Why can't we have a season like England? How a side like India, where everyone would play you if you asked, goes almost a whole year without Tests is beyond me.
SRT did voice his dissapointment on this. Just 5 tests matches in a year is crap!

Its ****ing dumb to not play many test matches when you have Dravid and Sachin on their last legs. Why waste a valuable year when two of your country's greatest batsmen of all time are near retirement? Try and get as much test cricket out of them as possible before they give it away!

Glad Sachin said something.
