*Official* Australia in England T20s and ODIs

England play as **** as that, with selections as horrible as that and they still nearly win.

Umpires always bottle the no-balls in a situation like this, so was never going to be called.

I think you gotta look at the bowling powerplay for why England lost. 18 runs off 5 overs with James Hopes bowling and only one wicket down. Turns out, they barely needed any more than that.

The 88 balls used up for Bopara's 49 were pretty crucial too. Just one of those balls could have won or tied England the game in the end.

Why does Strauss hold his cap whilst shaking hands with people? =/

Game lost in the 2nd powerplay, only getting 18 off overs 11 to 15 just isn't enough. Ravi and Prior to blame. Not helped by Strauss giving the batsmen free singles in the last 15 overs either.

very low quality game in the end, made close at the end because both teams were almost as crap as each other
The story of the entire season tbh.

Anyhow contrats Australia, the better team. Good finish in the end but Oz's last few overs with the bat were probably the difference.

Only 36 more games to go before we can all pack up and go home

England must currently have the worst ODI top 6 out of all the test playing nations apart from Bang. Given how moderate our bowling is too, it's a wonder we got as close as we did.

I know Pietersen & Flintoff are injured, but surely England have some better oneday batting options out there somewhere.

What about that other South African dude Trott who did so well in the Tests?

We do have better players, alot of them. The selectors are just idiots. Davies, Trott, Joyce, Lumb and Morgan could all be worth a shout, the first 3 especially. Davies, Bopara, Joyce, Trott, Shah, Collingwood and Wright would have been far stronger.

So you'd drop Strauss?

Yep. Didn't like his selection in the ODi side, he's only in the side because he's the skipper, like Vaughan was in 2007. He's not a good OD batsman, as he feels he has to try and play the shots that get him out in Test cricket, and unsurprisingly they get him out in ODi cricket as well. I'd much rather see Steven Davies opening with Bopara.

Callum Ferguson deserved MOTM. Gash would have had a good shout if he guided us home to a win, but with Australia winning it had to be Ferguson really.

Highly debatable tbh..

So you're saying the below batting line-up wouldn't be stronger than the one we've got out tonight? =/ I think it's undoubtedly stronger.

Steve Davies
Ravi Bopara
Ed Joyce
Jonathan Trott
Owais Shah
Paul Collingwood
Luke Wright
