All I'd like to say at this stage is sucked-in to the most arrogant bunch of commentators I can remember, especially the annoying Fernandes who gushes over every Sri Lankan & rubbishes every New Zealander, just wish he was commentating at the end

Sounds like Oram once again showing he's no 20/20 player.

He's not a hitter from the start which is what you need in 20/20. Bar his hundred in Aussie and a couple of other fifties, he's never come in and bashed it from the start. He gets himself in first and lauches at twenty odd. But of course there's no time for that in 20/20.

Good we won I suppose, would rather it had been a test match though.

Does anyone think Broom will go the Flynn route. He'll get 10-15 games in the ODI team only batting when the team needs quick runs and then get the boot? It's a joke that Oram came in ahead of him.
That's exactly what I was thinking the other day, but forgot to post it
Hopefully he'll get a go in the Test team soon (@ 6) cause he's got a great FC record.

Should give Stewart or Watling a go in the ODI squad.

I saw this on Cricinfo, "Sri Lanka gave 3 byes on the last ball (in NZ's innings), which is equal to the margin by which NZ won". So the main difference between the two teams was the discipline in bowling.
Butler's turning out to be a very reliable bowler too

Just caught the bowling highlights. Loved Orams caught and bowled and the anger with which he threw the ball down.

Butler=WAG. Hope he plays some ODIs (Though with Mills, Bond and Tuffey it could be unlikely, or is Tuffey only in the test squad?)

Tuffey is not in - the ODI squad is as follows.

Daniel Vettori (captain)
Shane Bond
Neil Broom
Ian Butler
Brendon Diamanti
Grant Elliott
Martin Guptill
Gareth Hopkins (ODIs only)
Brendon McCullum
Nathan McCullum
Peter McGlashan (Twenty20s only)
Kyle Mills
Jacob Oram
Jeetan Patel
Jesse Ryder
Ross Taylor

Tuffey is in the Champions Trophy squad however he comes in at the expese of Nathan McCullum I guess they wanted to play an extra spinner in sri lanka.

It is McCullum's idea. The tosser.

Can anyone tell me what sort of speeds Bond was bowling? I tried to watch the game but fell asleep at the innings break and missed all of Bond's bowling.

I think it's a great move. Obviously McCullum knows his game better than any of us and if he feels its the right way to go I for one wont question it.

Fastest 145.2. His average was around 138-140. Wouldn't trust the speedgun though. Malinga was bowling frecking quick at the start and it was coming up with 140-143.

Yea okay. If McCullum isn't keeping he's more likely to lose his spot in the team.
