Eyes not spreadsheets
You want understrength - Warwickshire are playing what looks like 2 specialist batsmen (plus Frost a converted keeper and presumably Newport is a batsman) - then it's keeper and all rounders (plus a very dodgy opener)

Blackwell and Mustard destroying Worcestershire here, pretty embarissing if truth be told. Still find Mustard horrible from aesthetic point of view though.

Cricketer Of The Year
Worcestershire sure are a far cry from the days of Jones and Ali opening the bowling last year.

Onya Solanki! I hate watching Blackwell bat. The epitome of a flat track, medium pace, boundary in by twenty yards fat bully. Good job he got out when he did or we would have silly bollocks Charlie boy saying he still has England ambitions - completely forgetting when he did represent England, he was bowled by Shoaib before he even had time to play a shot.

Dunno, he has a contract until 2011, so he should be staying for another season at least. How easy is it to terminate a cricket contract like that?

International Captain
Phil Newport's son Nathan making his debut for Warks I see. Not long ago you could make a pretty good 'Son of my Father' XI with the likes of Alec Stewart, Mark Butcher, Graham Lloyd and Mark Ealham. Obviously some of those have gone now though, one of them just today, and another at the end of the season.

And where's Mark Butcher?
