Lazio are a mid-table side at the moment though, so it doesn't go far to disproving my point. It's quite obvious you didn't watch much Serie A last season. The second game vs. Lazio springs to mind, which he won off of his own back.
Totti had a huge influence in helping Italy win the World Cup and his form a few years back was unbelievable. His a champion player and isn't a fraud like Del Piero, who was finished as a (world class) player before the millennium.Hmm. Totti is the old Ibrahimovic- rumoured to be fantastically good but no one has actually ever seen him have a good game.
He would have got such accolades if he left Roma for Man U or Real but for that show of loyalty, he has God like status in Rome instead.Yeah I agree with this, one of the most overated players of his generation. To give him his due he isn't bad, and can be quite effective on occasion, but most of the time he just doesn't show up, and even when he is at his absolute best he is nowhere near one of the greatest players in the world.
Hopefully Woody & King stay at Spurs. Hopefully either one stays fit this seasons, since one MUST be the England's WC squad.Tottenham agree a fee for Newcastle's Sebastian Bassong for about £8m. Not surprising they are going after defenders with Jonathan Woodgate, Michael Dawson, and Ledley King all injured/or injury prone.
Obviously not going to be King, the guy will never reach top fitness again.Hopefully Woody & King stay at Spurs. Hopefully either one stays fit this seasons, since one MUST be the England's WC squad.
TBF, and I don't offer praise to Spurts players lightly, if his knee wasn't shot he's arguably the second best defensive centre-half who's England-qualified, what with Campbell and Carragher unavailable. Quick (or was), strong in the air, great physical prescence and decent enough on the ball so as not to be a liability.Obviously not going to be King, the guy will never reach top fitness again.
I wouldn't tbh, but until he can play more than 1 game a week (not going to happen) he's pretty useless from an England point of view.TBF, and I don't offer praise to Spurts players lightly, if his knee wasn't shot he's arguably the second best defensive centre-half who's England-qualified, what with Campbell and Carragher unavailable. As a pure defender I'd have him over Rio.
He was pretty good in that World Cup actually, yeah. Still nowhere near the hype though, one goal- a penalty- in seven matches, but it's an improvement on getting sent off for diving as your team crash out to South Korea and being sent home in disgrace after two games for spitting at another player.Totti had a huge influence in helping Italy win the World Cup and his form a few years back was unbelievable. AWTA. If you're good enough, you will make it and a Prem club will sign you.Wigan to become Scott Sinclair's sixth (!!) loan home since the Chavs signed him. From the BBC.
Aside from the money I really can't see any other reason for promising youngsters to join a big club currently. Sign of the times, I suppose. With the financial advantages the big four (plus Citeh) have there seems to be something of a carpetbombing approach to signing talent.
Boy's still only 20, but can't help but think he'd been better staying with Brizzle Rovers.
BTW do you have access to ESPN? Plenty of Serie A coming your way then.Hopefully Woody & King stay at Spurs. Hopefully either one stays fit this seasons, since one MUST be the England's WC squad.

Here to be proved wrong, but that's a really good draw for the Arse, possibly only one team that they'd prefer.
The hype will be tedium personified though, as all these Battle of Britain things are. Never really understood that name being given to these matches, I'm reasonably sure England and Scotland were on the same side in that skirmish
Not entirely thrilled about this tbh, as it's the exact kind of match that Arsenal often lose, esspecially away from home. I can see them winning the home leg 1-0 or 2-1, and then being beaten 1-0 in the away leg. Bad draw for Arsenal tstl.Celtic v Arsenal
