Are they pushing any cruiserweight s atm?
As Sledger mentioned, Evan Bourne has been getting a pretty big push. He's very talented, so his push is well deserved. Another one is Kofi Kingston who is the current United States Champion. He's becoming more high profile as well.

The Cruiserweight Division in itself has been abolished and the reason for it is fair. I think that when you have a Cruiserweight Division it holds back some of the Cruiserweight talent from ever reaching main event status because it type casts them as only Cruiserweight talent.

With no Cruiserweight Championship, the smaller guys are able to branch out, go further up the card and contest for the Intercontinental, United States and World Heavyweight Championship belts. It wouldn't surprise me to see people like Evan Bourne or Kofi Kingston go up to main event level in the next 5 or so years.

Thought Kofi was a bit bigger than most cruiser's but if he can fly it would be pretty spectacular to watch.

Will be interesting to see, as Vince is usually not keen on the smaller guys, Taz for example was such an awesome wrestler but was hardly ever given a serious run in the WWE, though injury played its part in that. But Benoit and Eddie though they reached the top never really got the recognition they deserved as world champions, though again if they were with us today they undoubtedly would have held the world title again. Chris Jericho is another one who is only recently really getting the accolades he deserves. Bourne into the main event may be a long shot, but I really hope he does it, he could do with a decent manager or valet to get him a bit of extra heat and to do his promos.

In fairness to Kingston, I would say he is more of an "X-division" kind of guy rather than a "cruiserweight" so to speak. I don't think he would have been pushed for the cruiserweight title even if it was still active. Good performer though, like you say getting gradually more and more over and is fun to watch in ring. Fear his promo work holds him back though, being "jamaican" means that his promos are ridden with an awful attempt (though much improved recently) at doing the accent, if they can get round that then I see no reason for him not to really go to the top .That said, I could have said the same for Shelton Benjamin about 4 years ago, and he's stalled big time, which is a crying shame.

For all the Aussies JB have a WWE sale going on right now for $10. Very tempted to get the Mick Foley dvd. Greatest site to buy DVD's, got so many TV shows and box sets for less than 1/2 the price I get in stores.

I have the Mick Foley DVD, quite worth a go if you can get it on the cheap, esspecially if its the special extended version that has his matches with Randy Orton and other extras on it. It's not a bad package, as there is some really rare stuff on there like Cactus Jack vs Sting from his WCW days, and the whole thing is presented by Foley who gives some interesting insights on his career, but some of his earlier matches are nothing much special, in particular his matches with the Sandman are just endless brawling with all sorts of weapons in bingo halls (mind you, one of those matches is hilarious, as Sandman was literally too drunk/concussed/stoned/out of it to realise he was meant to stay down and kept getting back up). The post ECW/WCW/SMW stuff is good though, never get bored of watching the Royal Rumble 2000 street fight, pedigree on the thumb tacks remains the best thing ever.

You seen Tombstone: History of Taker? That's the other one I'm interested in. SCSA ones have been disappointing on the whole so I'd be cautious on buying anything Austin.

Yeah don't own it but have seen it, had some pretty decent stuff on it iirc. The best thing about that particular set was one of the matches that isn't advertised on the box. On the extras disc there is Kurt Angle v Taker for the WWE title from an Episode of Smackdown around 2002-3, it is one hell of an awesome match and features an interview from Kurt Angle bigging up taker.

Just watched Michaels v Taker. Holy **** that was all sorts of awesome.

Some sick ****ing bumps in there, Taker's dive to the outside was just cringe worthy, the DDT was pretty bad, and watching Shawn trying to stay on the top turnbuckle by holding on to the ropes scared me ****less.

WTF is with these old farts? What a match.

I didn't realise till after the match that the cameraman who was meant to catch Taker was in fact Sim Snuka, and as a result of that botch he was subsequently fired, not that I care particularly, guy was pretty devoid of charisma.

Like you say top match though, if you want to watch another one that was a genuine match of the year candidate watch Jericho v Rey from The Bash a few weeks back, not seen either of those two wrestle as good a match in ages, working with Jericho really seems to have brought out the best in Rey, and has made him look like the guy he was about 4 years ago.

Vickie Guerrero v Santino is probably the only match from this year better than the two just mentioned

Haha, apparently that match and the way it portrayed her pissed off a lot of the talent backstage, didn't much bother me tbh, she needn't have agreed to it if she didn't want to do it. That said, I didn't really find it funny either.

I found it strange when she first showed up, and I still find it strange that she's sticking around.

Seriously, why?

She's quit now tbh, a shame in some ways imo, got insane amounts of heat, but had an even more annoying voice than Stephanie McMahon.

Remember the Eddie v Rey ladder match at Summerslam 05 (great match - dire stips) ended with her pushing Eddie off the ladder, which absolutely sucked balls.

Haha, you just reminded me of Team Angle v Eddie and Tajiri. Need to re-watch it right now.

Gimme back my SS-era tag team wrestling. :(

Tajiri was such a gun, was obviously never going to make it really big in the E, but would have been nice to see him get a few high profile matches.

Haha never even realised this ladder match ever happened tbh, will look forward to this...
It was the last PPV before the E introduced the new, slower ring style, IIRC, which made this the last truly fast-paced high-spot match for a good while.
