No they had Murali and he went for 99 off 10 overs or something. Anyone who believes that you've done the job after you've got Australia a couple down for nothing is heading for a fall. England must believe their job has barely started here.
We had the Windies 11-2 at the ARG in 1994 IIRC. Cue 375 from Lara.

I always think that even if we have them 20-9 they could still make 600, because it's Australia.

God, people have some pent up hostility towards Ponting on here, don't they? He was given out caught when he didn't hit the ball and looked surprised about it. He didn't actually stab Koertzen with a stump or anything.

Could have been given out LBW of course, but it wasn't, so Ponting had every right to feel it was a bit of a strange decision. Compared to most batsmen who are given out like that his reaction wasn't anything over the top.

In other news, Australia in trouble, Hussey needs some runs etc.

Never realised how much of a pissing contest these Ashes match threads can turn into. Interesting stuff.

It's the fact that he bemoans our 'playing in the spirit of the game' and then when he gets out he doesn't immediately walk off. When you're out you're out; even if you are Ricky Ponting and you're a model ambassador of the spirit of cricket. 8-)

This series is the first time we've had one for two-and-a-half years, after all. Anyway congrats on the 2 grand.
