If this collapse means I never get to see Butt and Malik playing test cricket for Pakistan then I will take it.

Wow pretty amazing, Rangana Herath showing what he can do with little bit of assistance from the track. Ends up as a good test match,

congrats.

actually when I heard Herath is playing I was like **** Pak is poo against left arm spin. No excuses this was self destruction to the core. Malik and Butt have to go.

Mathews averaged 100. Kaushal averaged in the 50s, as did Kapu. Udawatte was on par with Vandort. Tharanga ahead of both Udawatte and Vandort as a test opener atm. He averaged 50 odd as well and kept that average for Sri Lanka A and provincial cricket.
Do you have a link to their domestic batting performances? I couldn't find any reference to their stats in the Tier A Premier League....

Excellent fightback by Sri Lanka! However, I still feel that if Dilshan is keeping wicket, he's batting a place too high at six.

Pakistan put up a good fight, but I think this loss just reflects that they've been out of Test cricket a bit too long....

I can see the arguments for Butt clearly. But why Malik?
Pakistan lack of test cricket and over focus on odi's have meant Malik has been able to slip through in to the test team based on his ODI record. Whenever he has scored runs in tests it has been on flat patta tracks it was only a matter of time before he got exposed. I am sure Younis is a smart enough captaim who will realise this and push him on his bike.

Malik is a decent honest player but after 20 games one thing we have to realise he will never average 40+. In today's cricket if a batsman cannot average 40+ he should not be persisted with. So its high time we replace him with other youngsters, there is a cap on everyone's ability and this is his maximum ability which is just not good enough for test cricket.

I'm just curious... why would you bat a guy at number 8 when his averaging 55 in first-class cricket with the bat, if his only going to bowl 12 overs in the match?

Scored only one century in 24th tests, averages only 35 and no longer bowls. Pak can do and need better.

As for Butt, he needs to go. Shocking shot, **** record, **** player.

Congrats to Sri Lanka, what a great match, couldn't believe they won. Bring on the Ashes, Test cricket is alive and well.

Even with Pakistan seemingly on course for victory you could forsee something like this happening.

Highest credit to the Sri Lankan bowlers. Life after Murali might still be sweet for Sri Lanka. Always rated Herath highly; one of the better left arm spinners in the world who just hasn't been given the opportunities over the years.

Mathews is #7. Night watchman made him to come at #8. personally I think he should bat at #6
