Mauger Steffi's legs were great but she's not the best female tennis player ever, so I'm feeling stupid voting for the Teutonic thighs each round, She may be the best straight player though. Mauger was a childhood hero too, even if I was too young to remember much of it, Falcons FTW though.

Senna by many-a-mile.

I'm sure you could fill us in, with your whole national cricket team being foreign born and all that...
Falling over themselves to play for us, they are. & who can blame them?

Nah, rate Cahill very highly and would've had him for us without hesitation, just surprised he's quite so popular. Obv wouldn't have been if he'd have got his way back then. Doubt Hargreaves is beloved in Canadialand.

Should clear that shocking mystery up for you. The man's a national hero, fairly sure there isn't a person in Australia who wouldn't sleep with him in a heartbeat.
He's so popular now, there were talks on the radio (not just discussions, but flat out statements) that he is currently the #1 Australian sportsman.

I don't follow rugby union or rugby league, but you'd be hard-pressed to say there's an Australian cricketer better and bigger than him right now. Obviously no tennis players, nor basketball

Not sure about any other intl sports such as motor racing or athletics.

Honestly didn't know he was so universally beloved down under. Guess association football cuts across parochial "my footy code's better than yours" concerns to some extent. Although Aloisi's pen & Schwarzer's save arguably just as important to the Socceroos tho, more so probably.

Webber and Stoner are pretty popular(especially Casey) but 90% of people would only have a passing interest in what they do. Football is more than a niche sport these days.

Schwarzer made two saves, ftr.

Aloisi has tarnished his image with his horrid season last year, and goalkeeper's are never poster-childs for football, no matter how good.
