The near touchline has been Qld's 16th man - the 14th and 15th being Tim Mander and Bill Harrigan.
Feel sorry for Gidley. Fatigue does funny things to ya.

Interesting game. NSW didn't really seem to score from any structure, just a lucky fling-back from Hayne and cleaning up a charge down. But they did look threatening over the last 25 minutes.Jennings couldn't get his hands on the ball without being flat footed.

Really did look like the plucky challenger throwing wild punches at the champ, and the champ just picked him off whenever he needed to. NSW landed a couple of punches, but not enough to take points or a fluky knockout.

Ah well, not a bad effort by a bunch of boys running around like chooks with their heads cut off against QLD's 'superteam'. To only lose by 10 isn't bad considering they were only 6 back in the 80th minute...wonder where those 6 would have come from?

Some good signs for NSW though.

28-18 to Queensland.

Hayne was outstanding, one of the best on the ground.
Yeah he was good, unfortunately I haven't seen him play much over here. Heard he'd been playing well, but he had a big impact whenever he got involved.

Obviously glad QLD won, but that 2nd half was pretty shocking from both teams imo. Gutted for Gidley, waiting for people to call a choke, but meh. He'll have a blinder in the 2nd. Probably the worst game he's had in 3 years.

Surely Kite's papers will be marked NTPA now.
Not a bad effort in the end really. Most of those blokes should be kept imo. More ball to Jennings game 2 please.
Laughing at Hodges - always been a gobby ****, 'specially as he plays about 7 games per year on average.

Gotta say that Inglis was quiet most of the night but hell does he make an impact when given a chance

1. Good finish and strength for first try

2. Brilliant run for second try

3. Huge tackle in second half that knocked the ball back 20 metres

4. Massive leap and catch late when NSW looked dangerous

5. Strength and offload to score on full time.

He needs a maroon cape with a big "S" on it.

Also was laughing at the ch9 stats at the end of the game that showed Slater as having ZERO tackles; when it was a Slater tackle on the tryline in the first half that probably won the game.

Go QLD

yeah Thurston outstanding, created everything.

Who does Qld bring in for game 2 in backline?

1. Hunt plays right centre (played reall good in the role tonight) and ???? goes onto bench

2. Folau comes into centre, ???? comes in on the wing

3. ????? comes into the team into the centres
