Why do you insist on voting strategically and not vote for who you think is the best?
I do that when I foresee no possibility of 'who I think is the best' winning over others. For instance, in this case it was clearly between Miandad and Compton. So, what's the use of voting for Walcott or Barrington when I know for sure that they aren't gonna win. Hence, I chose one among Miandad and Compton. Of course, if it didn't matter to me who is winning between the two (that is often the case), then I would vote for 'who I think is the best' even if he doesn't have any chance of winning...

Constrasting MOs, the dashing, devil-may-care brylcreem boy and the austere accumulator, but would kill for either in our current set up.

The lack of Barrington love surprising, really. Sure, he was primarily defensive, but nearly 7000 test runs at over 58.5 shows the end surely justified the means.
More recycling, good for the environment, don't you know?
