I hate Sreesanth

Sreesanth is a character. Cricket needs players like him. Hopefully he will keep the legacy of Akhtar,Mcgrath & Nel alive for next generatioin.
I'd put Sreesanth in the company of Nel for temperament vs ability, and Akhtar for wasting any talent he has. Wouldn't group McGrath with any of them.

I don't think Ganguly or Botham specifically target players outside the field. Also, IPL is vastly different from International matches. It is more professional.
You obviously won't read this as you're banned, but Hayden was obviously asked about Sreesanth and replied to the question. It's not like he went out of his way to get a press release issued.

I actually don't think Nel has a poor temperament at all. He goes OTT occasionally; Sreesanth does it very regularly.

What let Nel down from 2006/07 onwards, for mine, was loss of patience too soon. Something that, hitherto, he'd demonstrated in abundance. That and maybe a few kph (no more than 5-6 of it).

i wouldn't say he is talentless but certainly an idiot thou..... don't like Harbhajan either.
While we are on hate subject... was just reading AB Devillers interview on cricinfo....more reasons not to like Ponting for me... i didn't hear about this incident before.

AB......"It happened when I was new to international cricket. Ponting had just hit a century and, during the break, I tapped him on the shoulder and congratulated him. He looked at me, shook his head and turned away in a dismissive way. I felt like an idiot as I walked away but then Glenn McGrath ran up to me. He told me not to worry too much;"

kudos to McGrath.. turned into a real gentleman tinthe last 6 or 7 years of his career..... hated his guts earlier on.
I hadn't heard this. As you say, it reflects poorly on that graceless gobsh!te Ponting and surprisingly well on McGrath

Sreesanth is an A grade douchebag and as an Indian fan, I hope he doesn't play for India until he gets his head straight. We have better options in RP Singh and Munaf Patel to play the role of the 3rd seamer.

Whatever it takes!!!
LOL... Sreesanth is indeed a douchebag... But Hayden is no angel. I have seen Sree complement batsmen for good knocks before... It is juz too personal between Sree/Harby and Haydos/Symonds and I honestly sorta expect bad behaviour from any or all four of them during games when they take on each other...

Having said that, his behaviour was pathetic at best and he deserves all the media tick off. Neither of these two act with much grace or poise and I always felt there was going to be some triumphant verbals at the end by whoever came out on top. Hayden played a brilliant knock, got the bragging rights and put them to full use. :) Maybe next time Sree will get him out early and then knock in a bit about Haydos....

Frankly, I did not have a problem when Sree was sledging Hayden in the early overs. Having got Badri first ball, another wicket then would have been a HUGE step and it did look like Hayden was losing his cool... I don't know how bad the sledging was but judging by looks, it was beyond the gutter level standard that is shown in international cricket from around the mid 90s... So I don't have any problem with that as it is pretty much accepted by the powers that be right now...

But to mouth off like that after such a great knock was horrible, to say the least... It even beat Harby utter the F-Bomb after being bowled by KP...

Dire stuff from Precam in his pheobe guise in this thread. The repeated bannings are seriously undermining the standard of his posting.

I am sorry to say this HB, but I am dissappointed to hear the above from you. I have heard this so many times but rarely has anyone explained why Hayden belongs in the company of the Drama Queen Sreesanth etc. Hayden had a bad week during the India-Aus Series and that's about it I can see as his poor behavior.

Take for example Hayden's two stints at IPL, He performed well, was well liked by his captain, his teammates supported his captain (as can be seen from his captain, teammates/captain thanking him for his help etc ), went along doing his business better than most and argubly was the best player in his team.

Compared to him, Sreesanth has been an average performer, was involved in slapgate with his India team-mate, has problems with his captain, not to forget the mindless and shameless sledging he displayed after getting hit.

Definitely agree with a lot of this. A hell of a lot. Sree is 50 times worse than Hayden.

But you cannot just wash away his radio comments. I'm not sure he even properly apologised for it?

It was a low act, and he played to exactly what the radio DJs wanted. I.e. making fun of Ishant, and playing on the accent.

Hayden can cook all the curries he want, but that was something that pissed a lot of people off. You can argue you'd expect better from a seasoned intl cricketer who had been to India twice at that stage, and new the cultural sensitivity in cricket relations. Yet he still acted like a douche.

Haydos instincts have served him well on the field but not so off it. I guess the us vs them mentality could explain why his team mates get along with him but opponents not so much.

I thought Hayden's stint on the radio was hilarious. Atleast when his doing the wrong thing, it's humorous and it probably was humorous to all non-Indians. Had it been directed at any other country other then India then nothing more would've been made of it.

Fail.

We all know what the media reaction was when Symonds called McCullum a lump of ****. McCullum was'nt Indian last time I checked.

Calling someone obnoxious vs drunkenly calling someone a lump of s*** hardly the same thing. Or is it? I get confused as to we are and are not allowed to say without being bad sports/cheats/disgraces.
