Have heard it that the guys were out late last night. Wouldn't be surprised if that's true considering how they've looked out there.

The lunchtime black coffee/hair of the dog seems to have done the trick, anyway. Jimmeh lasts all of two post-prandial balls.

Ha and golden duck for Onions first up. Misses a low full toss. Six for Fiddy and well deserved too.

EDIT: Not even that low, actually. Hit midway up the stumps! 12 looks a flattering FC average for our Gray.

I can't imagine what sort of post we'd see from Scaly if that had been Panesar bowled first ball by a full bunger. Onions plays for Durham though. :p

Norwood's on Fire
Swann denied the ton he clearly was set for! WAG. Panesar crying somewhere presumably, his argument for getting his place in the side back decreases every day

If Swanny's elbow behaves I don't see a way back for Monty, myself.

Strong words from Warney in the lunch break, by the way. Cardiff getting the first test "a disgrace". Warne the defender of traditions, whatever next?

I really can't believe Fidel's Test average. Pretty much every time I've seen him bowl he's been outstanding.

Broad opening the bowling. I must say, I didn't see this coming, but I really should have. Not a great move IMO, but we'll see.

He's right, of course
Oh, yes. Agree fully. Disgrace they went from nothing to not just an Ashes test but the first one. Lancs, Notts, Hants & Durham every right to be pissed off IMHO.

Broad opening, btw. Will his average come below 40 before said Ashes one wonders?

Good pace tho, tbf. 89.9mph that last one.

Huh. 90.7mph now. Broady's been in the gym, clearly. Over 5 mph quicker suddenly.

EDIT: WTF? Swann shares the new ball?!?

Yeah interesting move, though Broad is currently almost touching 90mph
Well yeah, but it's not like he's going to bowl much slower with the older ball. I can see the difference between Bresnan/Onions with the new ball and Bresnan/Onions with the older ball being greater than the same difference with Broad - they move it more.

Swann opening as well, which I actually don't see as a bad move given Smith is opening... but why the **** is Broad opening ahead of Anderson!?!?
