1. An almost full strength Everton couldn't break down a fairly weak Man Utd team. Facht.

2. Barely ,if at all, outplaying a 2nd/3rd string Man Utd team doesn't bode well facing Chelsea who are in good form.

3. The FA Cup was the least of the trophies left. Facht.

1. Fulham did it. Everton > Fulham

Villa nearly did it, and on present form i'd say Everton > Villa


2. All about form on the day, and if a full strength Chelsea team are 3 days after a champions league final that went to extra time (a la last year) then they stand a chance

It was a mockery of Benitez TBH. And as for your other points, yes Everton's a better team than Fulham. Also, this Everton team was greater quality than the Man Utd lineup. Was referring to on the day because Middlesbrough beat Liverpool recently. I don't see how that relates to me saying Everton barely beat a weak Man Utd team. Was that not true? And according to the stats Man Utd was the better of the two. Also, that's completely hypothetical re: Chelsea reaching the final and and playing extra time. Truth is, under Hiddink Chelsea have been brilliant. With their form and quality they're going to be more than a match for Barcelona much less Everton. Form on the day usually relates strongly to form over the past few weeks anyway.

Third priority it might be, but that was still gutting from where I sat watching it. My observations (pretending anyone cares):

1. Congratulations to Everton – a quality side with a good manager who’ve definitely earned their right to step out in the final given the teams they’ve dispatched along the way. Hope they go on and win it.

2. For all the talk about the wrong/weakened side being picked, I thought we played some good stuff and had the better of the game. The young lads in particular did well – just lacking that final piece of quality in the box to finish off some of the moves.

3. That’s two years in a row we’ve had a stonewall penalty not given that has ended up having a major influence on us going out of the cup. United get wrong calls in their favour, and we hear about them incessantly, but can we stop pretending that bad calls don’t happen against them too?

4. Dimitar Berbatov was never going to give us the die-for-the-cause workrate of a Rooney or a Tevez and we knew that when we bought him. What he WAS supposed to give us instead, however, were the matchwinning pieces of casually magical genius – big goals in big games when it matters most. It says something that he was brought on for a 17 year old kid and by doing so we became LESS dangerous. And the less said about the penalty the better.

I didn't have a meh stance. Was looking at everything overall which by, "Priorities and all that anyway", indicates that. The league and the CL mean more so if the decision to risk the FA Cup results in winning the league and maybe the CL it'll be ok.
