That was absolutely legendary by India. It's the best I've seen them all bat in a long, long time. Sachin, Yuvi and Dhoni you guys should all take a bow today.

Words and praise aren't enough for Sachin Tendulkar's effort today. He has just showed how even at 35 years of age, he's still the best batsman in the world today. That innings was so wonderful to watch and it will go down as one of his best ODI innings.

Yuvraj too was phenomenal and it's so good to see both Yuvi and Dhoni bat with such confidence and control. Nobody really looked like getting out. So much fun to watch as an Indian supporter.

Feel really sorry for Tim Southee though. He's a young bloke and one to keep for sure. He'll learn from this and come out a better bowler.

Why didn't Oram bowl 10?
Viru must be filthy with himself after missing out here.
Haha true. But its encouraging we scored this much (and in such a destructive manner) with him doing bugger all.

Often the game slows down and loses excitement (particularly in tests though tbf) when he's out. This time it picked up :D

Not Terrible
TBF to us if Butler hadn't injured himself, Oram bowled his full quota and Vettori had played then we'd probably have pegged India back about 60 more runs. Which is a little bit more realistic in the terms of this ground and the conditions.

Oram was good.
Mills was good at the death while horrible at the start.
Butler, Jeets and Elliott were all okay. The latter two coming on when the game was well out of hand and bowled without luck.

Southee and Ryder probably put on the worst 15 overs of bowling in the history of NZ one day cricket.

161 from 15 overs.
You could probably forgive Ryder that last over - only 9 from it.

But otherwise, dead right.

Bit worried by our lack of a fifth bowler here. Can a combination of Yusuf, Sehwag and Yuvi not get murdered here?
Yeah they'll go for over 80 minimum in their 10. We should have enough on the board for that to not matter. Or even better, Praveen and Zaheer may take early wickets and make the total out of reach before they have to bowl.

Can't believe McCullum made him bowl that last over of his.

Typically doesn't bowl at the death, as with his height and lack of pace unless he gets yorker absolutely right tends to go for a lot. Either that or they're trying to limit the overs he bowls.

india tie the world record for 18 sixes in a inngs .....think NZ took mare than 3.30 hrs...will they get full 50 here
Do they still do the reducing overs for slow over rate thing? NZ probably should be docked a couple of for going that far over time but it probably won't have much bearing on the result anyway.

NZ can really afford to have some overs docked here

Wonder what those saying Vettori is overrated are thinking now?
Vettori would've made a pretty big difference today. With his accuracy and discipline, the most he would've gone from his 10 overs would've been 50 runs. He also would've picked up a couple of wickets too. He was definitely missed today.

They don't dock overs anymore. Players just lose a percentage of their match fees depending on how slow they were, with the captain losing double.
