***Official*** India in Sri Lanka

Whatever it takes!!!
Good captaincy here from Jayawardene.. Saving up a bit of Mendis and Murali for the tail.

If the quicker guys get these two out (very possible given they are going for quick runs), they can come in and bamboozle the lower order and the tail out...

Such an advantage to have a Mendis in your side.. Even on his worst day, you just KNOW he will run through the lower order and the tail who will never be able to pick up his variations..

Not too many centuries have been scored in Sri Lanka lately, and possibly none by Indians. Then come these two. Is this a turning point in Sehwag's career? He hasn't scored a century in a long time, though he's been in fantastic form in his last 50 matches, keeping an average over 52 in his last twenty. Lip-licking stuff. The man then gets run out taking an aggressive single.

Dilhara's bowling well now.

Sehwag and Yuvraj could have a shot at 200 here.
I thought so too. But we're underestimating the sapping power of the subcontinental heat. We're more likely to see a 200 on a flat Australian or South African pitch. Sehwag appears tired already, and thats despite him and Yuvraj dealing mainly in boundaries rather than quick singles. Makes me think Dhoni promoting himself was a bad move. He's the sort that'll run the singles hard, and thats going to make Sehwag struggle real hard out there. India would have been much better off sending Raina or Yusuf out there at this stage.

EDIT: And Sehwags gone run out as I type. Man, I'm good.

Love the decisions Tendulkar has been getting lately.
Worked out best for the team though- If Tendulkar had stayed in and scored a century he'd almost certainly have done so slower than the 117 off 95 Yuvraj got.

I love Virender Sehwag.

The Indians have often batted well lately under pressure, but on the back of a huge cushion of runs, their middle-order has done precious little.

Dhoni has screwed this up so bad its not even funny.
Nah relax. He'll get his eye in and have a crack in a few overs.

IMO was the right move to send himself up the order, though your point regarding running b/n wickets was correct.

At the time we were cruising at 7.5 an over, and there's no point Dhoni coming in for 2-3 overs at the end. If he launches here 350 still on.

I sure hope he does well. He's played 26 balls without a boundary. He's got to realise that he's not the only batsman out there. :@ Adopting the dibbly dobbly approach for the sake of the team was admirable, but there are times when he's got to think of the other guy and go beyond that.

Yeah, anyway I'm probably just mad that they blew away a perfectly good chance to get 400. Please ignore my ranting.
