If you look at Oz's WC winning teams, the batting lineups all had something in common
EVERY one of the batsman was either a test batsman or knocking on the door of test selection i.e. with very few exceptions (e.g. Langer substitued by Gilchrist) they picked the best and let the most talented adapt to ODIs

Anyone who knows Len Pascoe would recognise that his responses here seem remarkably logical, coherent and unemotional - think Thommo with even more ability to rant
It appears (to me at least) that a great deal of care and thought has gone into his responses with probably quite a few revisions taking place before the article was finished
In other words, if it's good enough for a long-retired player to consider how he deals with a relatively insignificant piece then why the **** arent CA ensuring that today's high-paid current players are similarly careful/prepared when speaking to a potential audience of millions?

When there's a decent spinner to pick, we'll pick him. Hauritz is a half baked dire defensive bowler. And he can even defend properly, if some half quality batsman really wanted to get at him, it would be all too easy.
Krejza on the other hand has no control but possesses some wicket taking ability in tests on helpful wickets.
McGain needs to ReGain some form and fitness. He and Krejza should be the only one in contention for the spinner's position.

If you look at the spinners playing now in world cricket except murali,mendis,
most are defensive in odis and allmost all are ordinary.its better to play even a ordinary spinner as nz or sa are not that great players of spin.

And there are a number of NZers in the current side who can play spin pretty decently, especially against ordinary spinners.

spinners have not been taking wickets in the last few years for most sides,but genuine spinners can still contain and pick a odd wicket better than parttime spinners
