Words that have come back to bite.....

Uppercut, I rate you highly as a poster in general, but this baiting of Indian fans by yourself is getting pretty tedious. If you're talking of specific posters, name them instead of hiding behind phrases that could be applied to any set of supporters based on ones personal biases. You're a top bloke otherwise, but you're in danger of letting these petty remarks of yours define your posting style.

Pahaha that's so petty. If you pick someone up for a comment like that we might as well all cut off our tongues because it's the only way not to offend an India fan with sand in their ******.
Ponting is arrogant and nobody needs any proof about that and its bound to come
as his team dominated cricket for a decade and his comment in his captains dairy after they won the odi series in india a month after their loss at t20 world cup and the same indian team which beat them in t20 won the cb series in aus .classic case of words that come back to bite you

Alright, do any non-Indian fans think i unnecessarily bait them?

Matthew Hayden's radio interview where he said India were chatting back to Australia on the field because they knew they were getting belted all the time. The same interview in which he called Harbhajan a weed and made fun of Ishant Sharma's accent, and challenged him to a fight in the ring. It occured when the CB Series was on.

From those comments onwards, Australia lost the next 3 ODIs in the series, one to Sri Lanka and the two finals to India. In total, since his comments, Australia they have since then lost 8 out of 9 ODIs played on home soil not involving Bangladesh.

Ouch.

"This is the worst Australian side to visit England since WW2"
- The Sun (IIRC) circa May 1989.

Words to the effect of :"I know Shane's gotten a lot of blokes out that way, but he'll never bowl me around my legs"
- K Pietersen in his book "A Tale of Naff Haircuts", about Shane Warne. Then came Adelaide 2006-2007.

McGrath's 5-0 thing in 2005 has been dealt with.

Anything uttered by G Smith on his 1st tour to Australia as skipper of SA. Compare and contrast with the past summer.

"Bradman is the most curious mixture of good and poor batting I have ever seen." - P Fender 1929. Bradman answered in 1930 v Surrey with a double ton IIRC.

"He [Bradman} will have to cut out that pull shot if he is to succeed in England" - Maurice Tate.

"Even this useless mob think they can beat us"
- Daily Telegraph last week

Ian Chappel's infamous call for Tendulkar to retire post WC 07. He said Tendulkar was unlikely to repeat any of his past heroics, especially in Australia in the summer later that year. How wrong was he proven.

But no love lost for him as he correctly predicted India would do well to have Sehwag instead of Jaffer. And except for the Sachin one, I find him one of the guys I always like listening to.

Geoff Lawson (I think) said Warne was a joke after his first test and called for him never to play again whil Greg Matthews was available.

Of course, Greg Matthews is still playing and is available - maybe he's the answer at 48!!!

You could still argue that Fender had the last laugh seeing as he was apparantly one o f the main players in the formation of bodyline theory

But it wasn't the last laugh, Bradman still had an all-conquering tour of England to go as captain.

Back to the original question, Keith Fletcher famously wrote off Kumble after watching him struggle in SA shortly before India whitewashed England in 1992/93, with Fletcher's boys largely clueless against AK.
44-22-47-6 hardly a struggle from bowlers' perspective.
