Tend to think we're going about it the right way in just seeing off the front three bowlers. No offence to Hopes, Clarke, Hussey but none of them are wicket-taking bowlers and they have to bowl 20 overs between them. If we get 80-100 off their 20, we've won basically.

And therein lies the problem of playing James Hopes in this role. Hopefully this match wakes up the selectors.

This is what everyone's been saying since the beginning of the South African ODIs, and yet the selectors are still placing their faith in the random number generator. Biblically, this would be known as building your house on the quicksand.

Well if the batting lineup had have done their job and put on a decent total then Hopes' bowling becomes every so valuable as he puts on a lot of pressure when scoring runs is required. Still think that he's best to play as an opener.

To the Kiwi fans what your thoughts on Elliott batting at 5. I know he been pretty good with the bat so far and so, so with the ball. And Vettori and Mills are better then your average 8 & 9. But still seems a but over kill playing him basically as batting all rounder.
